How in the hell did all three of you fit in that truck? Did you make my brother ride out back? They call him the Vanilla Gorilla.

I got goosebumps thinking about how much that Old Man loved that car. He loved it enough to oil the cylinders and rotate it. He did that knowing good and well that you guys would love it, start it and drive it. I bet He's there when the engine starts for the first time,,leave him an open beer,,,Thanks Pops!

I have to laugh....I never thought this thread would bring as much attention to our old ramp truck as the '35. We bought that little truck two years ago for $1200 and it has been the best investment in any vehicle that any of us has bought. It has more than paid for itself with having it around when on of us or our buds has a breakdown or exhuming cars from the grave!

Thanks for all the comments, glad to share the story.

He comes back up and we all must've been clear, (Course havin COS sitting in your front seat could mean any sour outcome when coming up on the law) But he just said "Slow it down when going through our town."

All I can say I thank heaven for expressways! The small town shakedown is something everybody should live through at least once. Anybody that want's to wallow in the ambience of small town culture can always take the exit ramp. Nice find.:)

Let me just publicly say how great these Punk Rods are.........
I have been supporting their show for 5? years now and have really gotten along with them really well.

Over the years we started to hang out and now I consider them friends (well most of them......that Tyler kid is kinda weird.....ha)

I called Eric asking if he could do me a big favor and go check this thing out...........
he called me back and said - "John - no offense to you- but this car is 15 times the car you have i n your garage right now"

    so

I was able to scrape up $$$ and now I am selling my project - so go buy that one!

The wife is freaked out that we wont be able to pay the mortgage!
    ha

I talked to Tyler on the phone and he said they are gonna get the car running and post on YouTube the '35 doing donuts in the parking lot.

    I said - DO IT!

that would be awsome - seeing my car get thrashed before I have a chance to even see it - too funny.

I know that the car is in good hands and these guys know their stuff. I am forever in their debt for holding the car in the secret lair as well as going over there to get it before others could swoop in and purchase it.

If anyone is in Kansas CIty and does not know the Punk Rods - do yourself a favor and get to know a couple of them. They are funny, intelligent, and really genuine. No attitudes and no posing - they are the real deal and I am grateful to call them friends.

Now I gotta figure out how to get the car back to Iowa..................
guess I should email Marcy and ask when the next time she is headed up north!

I am hoping to have the car at the Torque Fest as well as the Good Guys Des Moines and maybe the Greaserama and Cheaters shows...........would like to take it to all the shows that I do - but I dont have a huge enclosed trailer to haul all the crap we sell along with this amazing car.

So thanks again and will seeya down the road.........

So that's the big secret?! Very cool John. You'll be miles ahead with this one vs the other one. I still want your bumper though. Tommy never should have sold it to you. :D ;)

Any idea what the extra "wide" moulding is on each hood side? I'd be interested if you're not going to use them. Sure looks like a nice car.
