hey guys. i have a 57 lincoln and i need front end parts. i found an ebay seller with great kits for 56 mercury front ends. and it looks just like my 57. anybody know if anything interchange or where to find out. the ebay guy doesnt know. ryan
See if you can scare up info from a Hollander Interchange Manual from the era......maybe available on line, or no doubt, some HAMBer will have one. Or, a FoMoCo parts manual of the day may also be useful......although sometimes parts with very minor differences, but that will physically interchange, will carry different part numbers.
An outfit called Kanter's in NJ sells antique suspension parts. I'm sure they could tell you if they interchange. BTW, looking at their catalog the complete kit for 52-60 is $600; and this is not a recent one. Don
My Hollander Interchange shows the ball joints, tie rods and control arms interchange only with '52-'57 Lincolns and '56-'57 Continentals. But, Kanter sells good parts and they stand behind their products.
womp womp.. haha well thanks for all the help guys. i checked kanter and there complete front kit is 1200. woooooofff
I know that the tie rods, and ball joints can be used on mutiple years, the front coil springs varry as do the control arms and control arm bushings. I am interested it what else you find out.
napa,oriellys,autozone,advance..believe it or not still stock some frontend parts for cars back into the 40's...i said some....it doen't hurt to look.
