I've picked up the last few issues of this fairly new magazine; it's been pretty interesting so I went ahead and subscribed to it. I just got my first issue in the mail (March 2010) and it's just great...totally HAMB freindly.
The March issue has articles on the SEMA show, the Outriders Picnic, the NHRA's Hot Rod Reunion, and the G***er Reunion in Thompson, Ohio...all very good.
...one of my favorite articles was "Road tripping to the 33rd annual Deuce Reunion", cool story with very cool cars. The cars featured in this iussue are a neat hot rod Model A, a very slick 50 Chevy fastback and a slammed 47 Ford coupe....there's even a report about artist Jimmy Smith's newest project, a 37 Ford.
Everything in the mag is well done and leans toward a traditional vibe, at least so far. Just thot some of you mite like to know about this new mag..
    ...check it out.

From what I've seen, it has kind of mutated into more of a traditional magazine. I first saw it a couple of years ago, and Rich Boyd was the editor then. It was less traditional then, but the new editor has taken it more in that direction.
Either way, it seems to be a well put together magazine. Good replacement for the bunch we lost over the past year!

Considering the editor is here on the HAMB I think it will stay that way as long as he is there

I liked it with Rich at the helm and subscribed. I like the new touches also, but they ignored my subscription so I have not subscribed again. I have bought a couple of issues and will wait to subscribe again. Courtney did get them to send one issue as he told me he would. Cl*** guy I say. Joe

I bought an issue in early-summer and it wasn't so HAMB-friendly. I did still read the whole thing and felt it was worth how affordable it was vs. the prices of some magazines nowadays.

***o(Courtney) is a great guy to work for, and has really turned the magazine around.

We are honored that he decided to run our pics of the roadtrip to the Deuce Reunion it was a great weekend

I think that since Court took over it went up in style a whole bunch over Rich's stuff. I guess it's the difference between a hands on rodder and an "Artist" from the LA Roadster club.

Rich was the guy doing it that caught my attention, liked it fine. Haven't seen enough of new ones to judge yet. My tastes are pretty wide though, so I most likely will like it fine. Joe

Thanks for the kind words. I have been doing the magazine thing for a while, but this is the irst time I have got the chance to work for a rod book. I am just trying to give the readers stuff they can't find on the internet. It's not easy, but worth it in the end...

Please, just keep it like it is. We don't need another "rat rod" or "lifestyle" magazine. Just nice cars, good tech articles(not how to install _______ advertisers parts), and event coverage with a VARIETY of cars. No Tattooed broads, music, or motorcycles! Theres other mags if we want to see those things!

Cool cars are always going to be our main focus. But, we tend to cater to a male audience, so we are going to slip the occasional broad in the mag, but don't worry, the car is still going to be the main focus. And don't worry, we'll leave that lifestyle stuff to the other magazines.

Tough mag to find in Ohio - I went to half a dozen places to find a copy and then they only had a tattered one left. Fun seeing several cars of guys I know.

I met him at the GoodGuys Indy Hot Rod Nationals. Very nice guy, from Canada. He was in the states for the winter visiting his daughter, and drove the '29. Found a local dragstrip and spend the winter making p***es.

After the show at Indy, he was on his was to the Back to the 50's show in Minnesota, then home to Canada.

He tells me he will be back to the GG show in Indy again this year.
