Those wheels are cool as hell!! I would leave the car as it is and drive it, i wouldn't go cutting it up. you don't see to many of those around.

  3. I'd sell it and get a solid "A" to start with.

I don't understand why it seems so often that folks need help with the vision for a build...I think that would get far more attention as a preserved original than any sort of rod. Unless you like explaining to every person you meet that it "isn't a Model A"...after you remove all the character with the wheels and originality, that's what it will look like...

Not trying to be a drag, but you pretty much left it open to our opinions with the whole 20 questions game.

I think i would restore that one. Some of our heritage has to be preserved. That looks like a good foundation for it.

Drive it until it's not fun, then make it yours.

I think people are not understanding why I want to rod the Nash ,,, every show or cruise in or whatever you go to you always see A's but this would be the only 26 nash there So i'd be different as far as cutting it I may not do that just paint , tinted glass , and some nice rims , and a different motor ,I'm not fond of the disk rims then when I get old and want to go slow I can easly put it back to orignal

I'm only 26 and think those stock wheels look better then cragars anyday. I'd restore it. Or like said before. Sell it and buy a A.

Car like that needs a hemi and a supersized order of suspentionwork!! I'd keep the solid look on the wheels and the fenders need to stay as well. I wish I could find a car that nice to start with:D:D

  12. I imagine a Nash collector would give you enough to buy a ratty Nash and bucks to build it. Not every car needs to be cut up, but clean ones like yours deserve to be saved as original.

  13. I see you never met a diehard Nash guy.... there's a reason it's not worth a whole lot, rare or otherwise.

You come on here asking what to do with it but it looks like you already have a vision(and a screw loose)

It's your car so do what you want with it obviously... i really hope for the sake of that car that what i quote above is a joke or sick wind up. if not then please wake up, smell the coffee and go buy a honda Civic or something similar to fuck up!

or at least listen to what the majority of people are saying on this thread...

I had to double check to make sure I was on a rodding board. All these voices saying don't cut it up, restore it! I guess with all the talk of "correct" and " period perfect", there may be a lot of undercover restorers here. Guys, this ain't a Deusenberg.

Clean up what's there. Spot that cowl in and make sure it runs and stops good. That's a perfect car for Hershey, Greenfield Village old car festival, as well as any outdoor rod show. Someone will come along and have to get it from you. Is it worth a fortune? No, and a Model A in the same condition is probably worth more but who cares. Frankly I think just because it's a Nash instead of a Ford doesn't do much of anything, for anyone. 2 or 3 other people mught say "...oh yeah, kool..." and the rest will ask what year Ford is it. A lot of $$$$ and time for the ability to say it's different. Different isn't always worth such an effort. Different isn't as critical as it may 1st seem. I'd drive as is and have some fun as I moved on to something better.

LOL at the nay-sayer saying Buy a honda ... No dude you keep your car ... people on here say it's not worth much orignal but don't Rod it out ... Now that makes since NOT ... leave it orignal to preserve History ? My history is HOT RODS ... anyways I thought some on here Might have a better vision then myself is why I asked but stock is not my vision and if it's yours then good for you but dont down me because Orignal is not my vision , and at a show if people this it's a Ford then them are people I don't care to talk to anyways ((( not Car Guys ))) sorry I even posted this add

  21. RESTORE IT! That make/model, that old, and in that condition should be restored, not Hot Rodded...

If you want to turn it into a hot rod, then I say go for it. But, lime green paint with flames and Cragars is not going to make it into a hot rod. Take your time and think out your modifications. Lower it, fix the paint, hop up the motor, and maybe yank the fenders off. Think "less is more." Just my $.02

You said it yourself. When you go to a show all you see are A's not any Nash's. Restore it it looks to nice to cut up. Rent it out for Weddings ,Prom ride , Movie prop. I know a guy here in Okla he rents several of his cars for movie props gets a nice income. My input.

  24. Disc wheels were available on a LOT of different cars from the mid-'20s on. Not everybody had wood spokes or steel spokes then.

If that were mine, I'd spend some time and do some light restoration work on it - retain the overall character without putting a ton of cash into it. Use it for a parade car or a general fart-around runner, but I'd leave THIS one stock and just enjoy it. Why put all the rod-money into it and have a car that only a few are going to want that way. This little Nash is just quirky enough to leave stock and simply enjoy! As said above, you can always find an A somewhere to do, since there are umpteen millions of them as compared to this little Nash!

  25. That's a great little Nash!

Merge, many companies offered wood/disk/wires for their cars (Dodge to name one). Wood seems to show up quite a bit for one reason at least- that's what the farmers were used to (and they were cheaper).

As far as what to do with it? I agree with the other guys- it's a great car and looks like it would only need a little work to make a VERY presentable car for parades, weddings, movies, shows, etc.

IF you are going to tear it down, I might be interested in the valve rockers...

Think resto rod, like the 70's where it looks restored, all trim intact original paint scheme and interior, period accessory lights with an updated drivetrain.
Run cragars on piecrust cheaters hanging out past the fenders. that way you keep the essence of the car but still get to make it a hot rod. if you chop it do a minimal chop, the trick is to fix what the original designers missed on. I wouldn't channel it just give it a nice rubber rake with a front axle drop and bigsn littles.

  27. Here is the deal. You did ask.
Personally, I have a vision for every car, I own, or am going to buy. The day I ask for someone else's opinion, is the day I would question myself about being a "(((Car Guy))". Must be my ego, but nobody has a "better vision then myself" (My car, I will do what I want with it, logic).
As for the comments you receive/received-you opened that can of worms.

back in the 70s and 80s everytime i would go to a run or show there would be some restorer saying how we butchered the 40 by making a rod , to me cutting a nice car like this up would be butchering it ,thats just my opinion i am all for building a rod but not out of a nice clean original low mileage car . i saw the american rodder show when coddingtons bunch drove in a very nice model a to hack apart to use the body shell only to make the lakes car for jo . to me that doesnt make sense. Jesse James did the same thing on monster garage when they built the rat rod a why ruin a car to use just part of it . for a rod find something without drive train and frame etc. help preserve the past
