thanks to those who took shots on Sunday

Jason, my parents are nearly the last to leave when they go to shows or gigs.
I rang the old man the day after they were due to get home seems they got to bed at 4am...bloody night owls.

  15. Seems it's finally safe to post in this thread, so here goes....

Just as well you did otherwise I would have had to do it. ;)

Here's a few pics from my trusty Canon.......

This one aint from the Kustom Nat's but the weekend before as Ken makes a few running repairs. He spent most of Sunday emulating Chopper by 'supervising' the kustomising work on this year's victim of the hammer and gas-axe.

  16. A good reason not to have shiny paint and a Flathead engine.

On the outside this looks like a bog stock FJ Holden Standard Sedan, the engineering is superb and the powertrain looks like it grew there. The 1UZ can push a two and a half tonne LS400 along at a very respectable clip, so I wouldn't be challenging this lightweight Humpy at the lights.

Coolest Hot Rod, 'The Duck's' awesome LS2 powered deuce.

Some folks just can't handle the booze and end up with more on their shirt than in their mouth.

Anybody didn't have fun at the Kustom Nats, only needs to look in the mirrir to discover why.

This pair looked like a couple of old poofs sitting on the beach holding hands, but hey, at least they don't have rolled up cuffs on their jeans. ;)

It's made from a million bits of unknown origins and a few known, was dirt cheap and delivered a bazillion bux worth of fun.

This may be a common site for you guys, but not in the US.

Is this a standard Chevy Ute released in Australia or is it something that's been altered from a sedan? Would love to have one of these.

Good turn out, people looked happy, enjoyed the pix!

  24. Lucky, yep thats a 51 Chev Ute, they had the same body shell 1949 till the last Chev Ute in 52.....the 49/50 style rear fender pressing in the rear quater continued thru to 51 & 52, used 4dr sedan front doors, standard sedan chassis & front sheet metal, bench seat, very basic trim etc, then because the Holden Ute was introduced in 1951, GM decided that the 52 would be the last of the Chev Utes.....andyd

This thing has been on the road since the early '70s. It's basically an open wheeled racer with a T bucket body on it and all the stuff required to make it streetable.

Thanks for the info andydodge! Are there a lot of these Utes still running around or sitting in garages? Love it, would make the perfect Custom Sled and still be useful hauling stuff.
