Lots of great info there. One thing I'd like to add is that unfortunately no aftermarket suppliers make a repro tail pan for the 57, which tends to rot something fierce. It took me a good week of metal fab to fix the one on my car. It sucks bad. Fenders, rockers, quarters, floors... all available from EMS. But know that if you need to fix a tail pan, you're in for a world of pain.

  7. Thats good, I have used the EMS panels on our 57's and they are the best on the market, wish you had have done the tailpan 2 years ago though... Good work if you get them out there. The 57 Ranchero bed panels are another that needs produced there was a short run of them available but I dont think they were EMS I stand to be corrected. Many Ranchys have rust in this area that I have seen. If there is a plan on these I will take a set.

First year Ford outsold Chevrolet for many years. I graduated from High School in 1966 and many of these were being rodded and raced around Fayetteville at the time. After all "Carolina is Ford Country" as they said in the ads of the times. Fred Lorenzen raced for Lafayette Ford In Fayetteville.

I didn't appreciate them as much then for their styling but as I got older I began liking them. Last time was tempted the guy sold his Ford Fairlane 500 hardtop an hour before I got there. Just around the corner in our neigborhood too.

So I have a 57 Chevy BelAir post car. It's cool too.

Hahaha, considering we just painted this car last week I don't think I'll be needing the tail pan any time soon.

Good to know that it's on the list though. I used the EMS front fender patch though, which came in handy. It certainly wasn't perfect, but EMS quality has been very good and considering the body line and the difficulty of the piece, I'll certainly give them the benefit of the doubt and use them for any other panels I may need

Jeff, I would completely understand if you did that. So many cars, so little time.... Own and enjoy all you can! That would be a cool project. Like someone else said, they are a lot rarer than '57 Chevy's and, to me, that makes them waay cooler.

Whats not to like about a 57 Ford. They outsold Chevy that year and it's easy to see why...

just recently found a 57 black custom 300 that has 6 books of photos, time slips, etc that the owner kept as he raced this car up on the eastern shore of maryland. 312 60 motor with 2 fours and supercharged. ran from 62 to 82 then stored. trailered it home, cleaned tank, new elec.pump, fuel lines, new oil, checked original points plugs, fresh fuel and a new battery and fired it up! awesome sound out of the fender well headers. interior is awesome, alittle body problems at lower front fenders and rear quarters. all original decals and lettering still on car. sits beside my 32 3 window y/block powered cpe. makes a nice pair

This one 'landed' at my place literally a week and a half ago. Dunno what I'm gonna do to it yet. I gotta wait 'til this snow and cold weather crap is over with. It's a California car and hasn't seen this crap before, probably wondering if Hell froze over.
