Saw this car on ebay long time ago. Was wondering who built it. Looks like a HotWheel car, pretty wild.

  2. I chose the Ford Zinc Yellow, also.. I wanted a yellow w/o any red in it, which most have. It causes a mustard hue, which I found common on most yellows.

My dad always said the coupe was 1976 Corvette yellow. Pics are available in a gallery linked in my signature line. Bear in mind that the paint never saw a garage for almost 20 yard, and has never been waxed. AFAIK, the original Dupont Centauri can is still in my mom's garage if you need the info off it.

J.Fishbeck - that car is nice.

I had my truck painted at Earl Schieb a long time ago, but the color is basicly '67 Vette Sunfire Yellow.

When I get it repainted again, it's going to be '68 Vette Safari Yellow - really nice

The best Yellow by far are the Ferrari and Porsche [ some years] You can also use a Ducati yellow,it's the same paint chip as Ferrari.

  9. I WISH I had a pic. A buddy of mine turned me on to 1979 Ford Fiesta Signal yellow. Without a doubt, the brightest yellow I ever saw. Only the cars painted in Canada had it. I swear, you put that color against Corvette Yellow, and the Corvette looks brown.

I'll see if I can pull up a paint code for you

Found the code on the PPG site- 82349

Be warned.... This is as yellow as yellow gets

I can't believe nobody has said ferrari 'giallo fly' or 'modena'. I think they are both the same. What I use for 'proper' yellow.

Late model Ford trucks and mustangs have a color called "Screaming Yellow", paint code D6 IIRC. It looks great on F150's and Mustangs with black stripes.

Attended the August cruise in Saskatoon,Sask. several summers ago and a brief rain shower sent every one there looking for shelter. In a few minutes, the sun came out and everyone went back to looking at cars. Couldn't help but notice all the yellow cars had bugs on 'em....yellow bugs! None of the other vehicles had bugs (of any color) on them.
Had a yellow Pacer with red wheels in the '90s, does that count for anything? Sorry, OT.

  27. Yeah, I noticed how yellow attracts bugs too.Science says we cannot actually SEE yellow, but our brains interprets the color as yellow.Perhaps the bugs see it as a bright green?

My '56 Short is painted with pure yellow toner! It started out as '73 Vette yellow, but the two drops of red/gallon never went in. It was painted in '75, but I still have to wear shades to wash it! Bees are always flying around, and humming birds come by to check it out, as well. We never have any trouble finding it in a color picture. You guys sure have some cool yellow rides, or should I say mellow?
