I dunna what brand any of them are, they are all vintage and cool, none of them have any names on em at all, the blue metal flake one had bumps on the back, the others are all smooth.

I don't know what you mean by "new ones missing the mark".....I used to put them on my cars in the 60's, so I bought this one last year, and I think it's fabulous....I really don't see a difference except this one's new, and I like that....

The larger one is a 15" i picked up at a a swap meet (supposed to be a Moon Eyes. It's never been installed.) to go on my '56 Chevy. The small one is a 12" Superior that i pulled off of a dune buggy i had years ago.

Nice! The Grant's seem to have the most intense flake than any of the others, new or old.

I would say the Cragar wheels are the ones I see the least. I have the two pictured in this thread and a black one in my Comet.

Its Great to see others that are collectors of Metalflake Steering Wheels. I have a picture of me and my wheels laid out on the driveway in a Nov 1999 Custom Rodder Issue page 10. At one time I had 71 Steering Wheels now only 36. I have several in the basement and most of them are on the garage wall.I have a Covico NOS Red flake Wheel on my 64 Chevy Wagon and a Grant Gold Flake one on my 59 EL. I too have an Ansen Turquoise NOS and 2 Covico(NO OFFSET) Silver NOS and others including a blue Grant finger grip,None of mine are For Sale. I met this guy last fall at a car show and he saw my Red Flake wheel on my wagon and told me about this Green Flake wheel that he had on a car from the 60's. In December he stopped over and gave me the Green one. I aso have an 8 inch(Yes 8 INCH) Chain Steering wheel I bought from a friend who had it on his cousin's lowrider in the early 70's.

  29. Last summer, I heard that the company that was repopping these wheels either went out of business, burnt or something and these wheels were going to become hard to get.

    Anyone else heard this?
