    Sex-On-Wheels!

However, I did prefer the Cooks car.
I was fortunate to attend the Trenton ROCs and the races on the big track at Pocono.
I'll never forget the when the first car took time and it was beyond the speed charts.

2009 NYSSCA Hall of Fame Inductees
    Today at "Saratoga Auto Museum
Dirt track ace Mike Romano, two-time NASCAR national modified champion Jimmy Spencer, two-surface star Charlie Rudolph and highly respected car owner Jerry Higbie Sr. have been elected to the New York State Stock Car Association’s Hall of Fame for induction in January, 2010.
A native of Berwick, PA. and son of dirt LM star Ed Spencer, Jimmy Spencer first displayed his asphalt prowess at New York’s super-fast Shangri-La Speedway in the family crewed #24 modified, claiming some two dozen wins and the 1983 track title running against such stellar competition as George Kent and Richie Evans. Known even then as “Mr. Excitement,” he also won the 1987 Busch North race at Shangri-La driving for owner Frank Cicci and the 1983 Race of Champions at Pocono.

Fifteen NASCAR modified tour wins and the 1986 and ’87 national championships followed, after which Spencer went on to the national Busch series, where he recorded 12 wins, and Winston Cup competition, where he scored popular superspeedway wins at Daytona and Talladega.

Always in the middle of the action on the track, Spencer brings an equally exciting presence to his TV work for Speed, where he continues to entertain race fans from coast to coast with insightful analysis of Sprint Cup happenings.

Sorry, Dr John had already posted a series of the Pocono Super Speedway Cars, so I didn't re-post.

However, I find it questionable that Cook's car was an Armstrong car. Cook drove a Monza and Bodine a Mustang. I doubt they were out of the same stabal.

The 01 is the Armstrong car, not Cook's. From link on post #4299.
Look behind Bodine's car at the headlight cover.

  14. Faster then the Cup cars. I think that is why NASCAR didn't like them much, they would take the thunder from the top dog, Winston Cup cars. WC at that time.

The Armstrong Team Cars were driven by Geoff Bodine and Ray Hendrick. They were both Ford Mustang II's. Believe it or not, Troyer's car is also suppose to be a Mustang II. I have a couple of shots of the cars, but I need to get the new scanner up and running. Cook's monza was pretty neat (not an Armstrong car) I liked Merv Treichler's monza: both the full fendered one and the fenderless one that I believe he one Watkins Glen and/or the Daytona roadcourse with.

    Dr. John,

Thanks for the neat comparison of the Turner Bros. hybrid car. I was wondering why the breather looked like it was set way back on the modified almost in the dashboard and why the header pipes were coming out a hole in the middle of the vega? body. I believe Gary Reichert won one of the big Oswego races with this car as a modified? Port City 150? Modified portion of the classic?

    JAWS ![/QUOTE]

Blewett bought that car, campaigned it at Wall Stadium (NJ) as the #76.

Who ran that car after that?
