Going back to post #71, I believe the photo of the hotel on the side of the hill in front of the Gulf station is in Madison, Indiana. It looks like US 421 looking North just after crossing the Ohio River bridge from Milton, Kentucky. The hotel would be the President Madison. This looks like the early 60's to me. I have been across that bridge many times after attending the Madison Regatta speedboat races which are held on July 4th weekend and have been for about 50 yrs.

It's amazing how styles have changed over time but beauty is timeless.
