Cole Foster's 1954 Chevy

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Mitchell de Moor, Jan 27, 2010.

  1. Well I have had '54's on my mind recently after seeing the MG '54 thread. Another favorite '54 of mine was the blue one Cole Foster built. Let's see some pictures... I only have some in some of my books will scan them and post them up when I get home from school.

  2. Some from the net...

    God I love this car.

One of my all time favourite chevy customs. The one he did for Mike Ness was another neat car, also Rob Fortiers old '54 which I think Cole had something to do with. The guy has magic hands.

Holy **** that car was finished in 1994??? Cole knew cool before cool knew cool.

I really can't believe that the car is 16 years old. That's really what defines timeless. **** it may as well be 66 years old.

I don't think anyone out there knows how to do a '54 rockstar Chevy better.

Has anyone seen this car in person? I feel like it's a Unicorn or something.

  17. Yeah, he had it out here a couple summers back. Thing oozes cl***. Very simple/clean and unpretentious, like all of his work really. It has held up pretty well most folks would not realize how long it has been on the road.

  18. Anyone have pics of the one he did for Mike Ness??? I cant think of what it looks like....

Cool, I would love to see that thing in person. Who knows, GNRS are this weekend and maybe it'll be there haha!!!

I put this ****ing car miles above Steck's Moonglow or any other '53-'54 for that matter....well, I really like Ness' but I guess that's a given considering who built it.

It's a dark red with forward tilting b pillars. Pretty generic description I know but when you see it you'll be like ooohhh yeah...that thing is rad!

I know it's been mentioned several times how he (and Todd?) did the back of the roof with new metal, but take a close look at that interior shot. Neat to see something without a bunch of nutty quilted pie cuts inside.

When I met Cole in 89 or 90 at Paso, he was there in with Job and Todd in Job's chopped 49 Ford, I believe he had already chopped his Chevy, and it was there the next year. I had already chopped my shoebox, but it was sitting there like a lump... it blew me away that guys my age had chopped an old car and were having fun with it far from home! Sorta kicked my *** into gear.

I saw it at coles shop a few years back, but I hardly could pay attention cuz there was so much cool stuff to check out! Kirks '36 in bare metal, Cole showing me all the bikes, "here's my pan head.. Here's this rediculously cool crocker, ohh yeah, the blue bike.." I wanted to study the chevy but it was overwhelming... Too much to wrap my head around in the few minutes I had before I had to head to the airport..
