I think it's beautiful and it's a rolling work of art that a real enthusiast could spend hours admiring in person. The negative comments here on the HAMB continue to amaze me but I've just accepted the fact that this a forum for people to say things from the safety of their home computer that they would never say in person to a car owner at a show or cruise night. It can be summed by up thinking is this a car that you would really walk past at a show without stopping to admire it? I don't think so and I bet the car looks even better in person than the pictures show. I'd love to see it coming down the street at night while reflecting the street lights!

  2. Naw, I know a few of the folks that have posted and a few of us would say what we think if George asked us. Nothing against the man, I like some of his other cars better. This one is just too gaudy. Neat truck but TOO MUCH neat.:p

The craftmanship is killer. But its a bit gawdy for my taste. Whats he calling that thing? Might I suggest "Liberace".... I know its polished and not rhinestones. Im just sayin....

  4. Definitely looks well built, but overdone.

I saw this truck while it was still in the fab stage. Brian is an artist. The detail and craftmanship are over the top. If you get a chance to see this truck, study it. Some of the original ideas and solutions to problems are incredible. Brian does things different than most of us in a fab sense. We take metal and connect, Brian takes metal and connects it with art.

The craftsmanship is outstanding, but it looks like it fell off a charm bracelet.

  7. I spent a bunch of time looking at it today. I would't call it ugly, busy is a much better term - there is just so much going on. It's kind of cool but just too much of everything, like most of Moal's cars IMHO

Looks like folks rather than fluttering like moths to the flame are beginning to share critical opinions of rivet, drilled parts, louver, plating, hole saw, and other gimmickey excess.

No more over the top than any of this popular excess:

Not saying that there's anything wrong with these tricks or that I don't like them but can you really knock on Poteet's ride when you lift your front ends in the air, weld rivet heads into your frames, drill holes in parts and then box in the lightening holes with more metal than was removed and all the other visually impressive but technically impotent trick features.
Where is the 20% of anything trick done here any different?
Poteet's ride is definitely traditional even if trick

Go to the cameltoe racing site and click on future projects and you can see it when it was being built in Indy. Pre Troy!

My opinion, he went way overboard (glad to know there is still great workmanship out there) but...Danny @Bruce's Rod Shop built the coolest version.

Fabulous workmanship and detail, but too "Pimp My Ride" for me. I don't get it.

  14. I hope TRJ features it before SRM shoots it.

I'd like to see more of it. 3 pages in SRM with 6 paragraphs describing it won't do it justice.

THANKS! Great link. The detail on that build is really top flight. Couldn't find any photos on the carburetor being used. Lots of MILLER ideas in this build, I wonder if there is a real MILLER in the collection that it will get to tow someday?:)

[IMG]Are we looking at buffed aluminun louvers and painted side panels? If so I just can't believe the amount of time this took to do. Add me to the "I Like It" group.

Thanks for the link. The craftsmanship is definately top notch on the truck. Lots of little detail work tucked into places. I do like the front brakes! Those are sweet!

  21. Maybe a little too much brightwork, but that thing is a rolling work of art and tribute to 1930's Indy cars... incredible!

I've liked some of Georges other rides, but this one I'm not excited about. You cannot take away from craftmanship...there is a ton of quality work in this truck. Just has way too much of several good things. I just wonder, if he ever does drive this thing, if it will whistle with all them louvers on it?

This group would have probably thought the Ala Kart was ugly back in the day.

To me that truck represents about 4 kickass hot rods and enough gas and insurance to drive them for about a half dozen years. I'm glad there is someone like George to be able to have these rolling art exibits built so all of us can see what an unlimited budget can produce. Anyone else wondering what he will have built next (waving hands wildly and jumping up and down:D)? Go George!!!!

I can appreciate the craftsman ship but way over the top for me.
I can appreciate the HOURS into that thing as well!
