That '57 Ford pickup with a car rear? Neato! Gotta do sumthin' with the tailgate to be comparable with Cameos and Dodge's version.
If you look at a Dodge Sweptside they used the quarters from a Dodge station wagon and the tailgate from the pickup.
In regards to the Metro wagons, I don't have a scanner handy otherwise I would post the pics, Special Interest Autos issue 177, page 27 shows 2 proposed wagons, one proposed by Pinin Farina that looks vaguely like a mini 55 Nomad.
How about a 63 Pontiac Gran Prix convertible. Doable with bolt on GP parts to a Catalina convert body.
I am actively looking for a nice old Grandma four-door shoebox to go for the stationwagon, I already know where to get the SW backend off of the little Plymouth wagon..Somebody please do me a drawing of the 67 Cougar Shelby fastback, with sequential tailights of course. I already have the Cougar, I need to find the Mustang fastback wrecked in the front...
i really like the idea of a 69 nova wagon, but using the 2 door doors pic kinda ruined it for me, now if it was done as a 4 door ...... hmmmmmmm
Way cool stuff. What if Chrysler had gone small instead of large and porky in the '50s? A Dodge slightly-bigger-than-a-TR3-sized roadster with that torque-monster flat six chasing (and beating) Corvettes around town?
Ok, here goes. How about a 55 chevy front end, 56 ass end and 57 side chrome. Or something like that.
Or a 46 chevy pickup made into a coupe. I think that would be cool as hell! What yall think? Photoshop anyone.
Try searching for n2a.com and check out their 789 model....57 front 58 mid ....59 tail ....a 2 seater....oh so cool...and they'll paint it any color you want!
Thats the kind of stuff i like to come up with, hear's a few. Somone is doing the El Crewmino from a 4 door malibu, its my falt and im sorry.
my Dad wanted a caddy pickup and had his 53 made into one in 1957 when ford came out with the Ranchero .it took 1 1/2 years using new parts from the dealer.he bought the 53 brand new and i still have it.
the "falcon GT pic" is awesome. It fixes the mustang nicely. Looks like you have something going on with the rear lights of the car also???...pic. please
Ive been meaning to draw that up for awhile now. One of my ideas is a studebaker avanti with a fastback roof line. I alaways loved the avanti but never really cared for the roof on it, now Raymond Loewy had more talent in his baby finger than I could ever have, but I still want to change the roof. This would be a hell of a project since the body in fibreglass, but a guy can dream right?
Now we're getting some action! ChrisClark: That Falcon GT fastback is so cool I can't stand it. I say every '65 Ford needs a Mustang fastback roof! I like the Mercury Turnpike Cruiser rear window on the Galaxie Ranchero, too. Not sure the "Marlin" roof works on the Chevy's though! YBlock: How about a more tunneled roof line on that Avanti? More like mid-year 'Vette than Mustang. (I think the rear suspension has too much toe-out! <grin>)
