BUnker Hill Dragway in Bunker Hill IN. Was originally a 1/4 mile in the 60's and there were times when a dragster would go off the end across the gravel road that crossed behind it.

The 40 Ford in the pic was Caddy powered and at one time hit the stand in the picture and knocked it down. :)

Ryan...For Drags EAST Consider Rockingham Dragway, Rockingham.N.C.
contact Steve Earwood www.rockinghamdragway.com : track in 'Small town'..1/4 mile...history..opened as AHRA way back ...can handle national events... "middle" of north/south east coast....Local Tourism Commission(contact:Chamber of Commerce) looking for tourism events to make area 'destination'...could help ... near major interstates and Southern Pines (Golf mecca). Other possibilty: Piedmont Dragway near Greensboro (Opened in '57). Herb McCandless's Sons operate Still Funky old time look But 1/8th mile

Having been only to Rockingham on the east coast I reckon its not a bad one...... in saying that I can only sight Famoso and Sears Point in the West coast, but Famoso is pretty cool and there is plenty to eat and places to stay in Bako and you might get Kiwi Konnection into it.

The closing of sanford and the opining of epping had to be close. I only missed 4 years then. 61 thru 65.

KCIR! My dad started taking me there when I was 6 years old, in '68. I remember the 32 nitro Funny Car shows on a Wednesday night during the summer. The spectators could/can stand so close that its as good as being with the crew on the starting line.

Excellent! I was going to post this one.

Gotta watch out for the left lane dip. It's MURDER on a fast bike.

I've been going there for years!

    Here's another 2:

    Milan Dragway in Milan, MI

    Quaker City in Salem, OH

Quaker is "interesting" with the uphill staging lane to the burnout box, but is a great track overall.

Definately Beech Bend. Of course I am biased because it is in my hometown but it is a cool old place with a nice vintage feel.

...bring it to Bowling Green where the beer flows like wine (or something like that anyway).

Another vote for Beech Bend, Bowling Green, KY. Has that vintage look , covered bleachers (close to track), Plenty of shade trees, I could go on & on. If you have never been to NHRR or Goodguys There it is a must attend.

In the east Beaver Springs would be your best bet. Beaver Bob is into this kind of stuff. They host the Jalopy Showdown Drags in October and a big Nostalgia weekend in July. It in my opinion has the best old time feel out of all the tracks in the North East I've ever been too. Maybe a late spring/early summer date would work there. Island Dragway has good possibilities too.

I vote for Fomosa. Last time I was there, I was standing in line with Ed Iskenderian.
