I recently received my complementary copy of the new JUXTAPOZ CAR CULTURE book. It showcases 23 artists who base their work on traditional Hot Rod & Custom culture. All the work is outstanding and very cool, I'm sure all here will like it. The HAMB seems well represented with myself, C Cruz, Church, COOP, Pat Ganahl and Keith Weesner. Juxtapoz Art & Culture Magazine (pronounced Jucks-tah-pozz) is a magazine created in 1994 by a group of artists and collectors including Robert Williams^[1], C.R. Stecyk, Greg Escalante and others to both help define and celebrate urban contemporary art. It is published by High Speed Productions, the same company who publishes Thrasher Skateboard magazine in San Francisco, California.

Been a subscriber with Juxtapoz for several years but they never sent anything cool like that. What in the world? Oh well. I don't care much for the new forum they went to in the past year or better.

 

Is the Mag in newstands now? If so Ima go and get that sucka.. Juxtapoz is one of my favorite magz to get.

Jack, how come you had to wait so long to get your copy?

I introduced them over here back in October and they've been a real hit. Great for people that aren't familiar with many of the artists out there.

 

At least Jack got his copy - they never sent me one! (grumble grumble...)

 

That's fairly poor.....I don't actually produce a mag and am only a dealer, but if there's a local guy that gets his car or bike in one of the mags I stock I usually send them a free copy.

 

I actually received it before Dec but with Christmas, teaching, and family coming in and out of town just didn't get around to it. I'll have to go and see if I can find it locally I guess. Juxtapose never sent anything complementary though. I subscribed with them for many many years. Don't know why though. I still got an old shirt from them though but I got it with the subscripition.

Too bad it was printed in China.
Would hope for a book on Hot Rod culture to be printed in the U.S.
