I feel like I dropped some BLOTTER, and have ZAPPA'S "PENGUINS IN BONDAGE" cranked up to 11, when I look at that....I found a T this past summer about 5 miles from my house running a 59 T-Bird drivetrain, the old man says it was his brothers who past away and he is saving the dune buggy (he calls it a dune buggy..lol he said he has never even sat in it or heard it run)it for his 5 year old grand son.. Keeping and eye on it every chance I get..Good luck with the T

I think this is the same car, in about 1964 with the original builder, John Fleckenstein

The "Raked T" was built from parts off this car, Halibrand quick change, 6 97's on a log manifold, Vertex mag, 37 LaSalle transmision, the radiator, drilled front axle & radius rods, the wheels were also on this car (at a later date) the body and frame are not from this car. Wow...Great pictures and information!
I am at the GNRS and will get speak with Scorpion Iron in the morning.
S.I. wants to leave the car as-is and make her a driver. It has been started and requires all of the basics before it will see the road.
Thanks for the "thread revival" and I will get some new info for you "twisted puppys"

I would name it the "Spaced Needle" and wear a Weedle suit to drive around in it.

Remember the "Weedle from the Needle" Supersonics mascot?

I'd almost bet that the car was painted by the late Bob Hill from Yakima. I didn't move back up here from Texas until 1977 and just missed the 77 Vintiques Nationals by two days then. Bob did a lot of airbrush work on cars here in Central Washington and passed what he knew on to students at JM Perry Tech in the late 80's and early 90's
Older pnw guys will remember his T from the same era NudiTy and many will remember the candy red 32 Ford coupe he build and debuted at the Vintiques show in the late 80's or early 90's which is still on the road with the same paint with a different owner. I'll pass the photos on to a couple of friends who may know something about the car.

  11. I can just picture H.R. Puffinstuff driving that T. I vote keep it the way it is, clean it up and polish those front wheels.

I remember hearing a lot about Bob Hill growing up. He painted my Grandfather's show car two or three times. 64 1/2 mustang he showed as "The Rebel" in the late 60's. Damn I wish I could find those photos. :(

That car looks real familiar to me also. But then I was at the 76 Yakima Un Run. The next year it was the Mini Nationals. Lots of cars from the NW had murals painted on there trunks. Usually something of interest in your area. Like Mt. Hood, Mt Rainer or Space Needle. Bob Hill was a master then. The heavy raked T's were popular also. Friend from Boise had a blown bucket that is running around Olympia area these days. After he moved there he built a clone of his for a customer.

The intake sure has features like my Edmonds 1x4. The angle in the runners. I would be interested in knowing if any of the butterfly shaped core support things are visable on the bottom. I believe the manifold is actually a factory one off experimental manifold made for Dodge for some form of racing. The 155xxx part number would indicate a 55 vintage as that is the sequence used in 55. I actually remember reading about this manifold way in the past. I have been fooling with the Dodges since 84.

After the T sat on the East side motionless for almost 35 years and still was all complete, I hauled her back to her new home. I pulled the plugs on the T and added alittle kroil oil to each cylinder and let it sit for a week. The engine turned free and the old plugs look good. With new plugs a battery a splash of ARCOS finest and a twist of the key she lit-up. By the third start all the carbs begin to run smooth, totally shocked. No smoke just pure hemi pleasure

The UnRun and Nats or Mini Nats as in the old days are two separate events. They still hold the Vintique Nationals the first weekend of Augest and the UnRun the first Saturday of October.

I don't think I have any photos of that car in my old photos from the 78 and later Vintiques or other PNW runs in that time frame though. I need to figure out where my old rodrun albums are in storage and check through them.

You guys are going to hate me for this but as far as I'm concerned that would be just a parts doner for a really cool hot rod. I'm thinking a '32 5w would make a proper reciepient. Full fendered, top chopped 2-2 1/2 in., hood top only, 4" dropped axle and Halibrands all around. Let the hating begin.
