Anybody out there doing their own home brew upholstery? Here's my kick at the can so far, for my 'A' Now with the back sewn up.
Sweet! I'm still waiting to get mine back from the shop. There used to be a guy in Bolton that did nice work. But as age would have it, I've forgotten his name.
That is a great job, My wife just sewed up some panels this weekend for a 27 that I am bringing home soon. Here is what our weekend efforts have brought us. http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j283/margolden/IMG_4134.jpg [/IMG]
Looks great, did you stitch it yourself? If so what kind of machine,a straight stitch? I am In Orangeville and I am going to give mine a shot, I have the seats but want to stitch the doorpanels and headliner.I have a 32tudor just about ready to paint the shell .
My 40 Ford interior. Sewn with an old Singer ZigZag machine. Seats, door panels, headliner and carpet.
Marshall, That's some nice piping you did! I was just discussing this very subject w/ my wife on Sunday. I want to attempt to create something for my 37 IHC. The back "looks" simple, and after seeing your method, I think I can do something w/ the bottom. What did you use for the spring webbing?
Just got done re-covering my seats last weekend. It's nothing fancy by any means but it was cheap! I'm planning on doing some pleating for the door panels in the metalflake vinyl that I used to re-cover the rear deck with.
My wife did my dragster upholstery in Blue denim. It was shown on Gearz TV(last time Sat morning. ) I really like it. Don
I used Tie Down stapping, the heavy stuff from a trucker buddy. I have made a back in the same manner and will post the pics when finished.
Like I said....Nicely done! For those who are not aware, there is a social group for Upholstery. Lots of great info and a place to post pics also..... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?groupid=174
