What is your definition of altered? A custom, lowrider, hotrod, or anything other than stock? Or are you refuring to an altered racecar?
In that case, i dont even own one but ive seen them on the street here and there. Betterhave the exhaust capped though. Noise police dont take kindly to your kind around these kind of parts. Yea. what he said.
Saw that car behind me randomly once while on my lunch break when Groucho still owned it. Made me happy to see a car like that out around in regular traffic on a weekday.
We're in the process of altering our '63 Valiant. The back axle is only coming forward 8" though since we are going to keep a full interior including back seat (probably still have more leg room than a Mustang ).
Yes,street/strip altered. No progress on chassis or body, but some on the motor. Still piecing her together.
Had a '57 Ford sedan that had the rear axle moved forward a foot and the front was an Econoline straight axle. That thing was a blast, setting off alarms and gettin' stares. Just had to remember what you were driving at speed, it took a light touch to change lanes on the freeway.
Here was my '34 Hudson. Sold it before I ever got around to putting on some more "altered" looking headers.
Check this out on the OzRodders site. http://www.ozrodders.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=33161 Back in the 70s-80s there was a street altered getting around that was built from spares of the guys race car. It has always been one of the cars that always epitomized 'Hot Rod' for me over here in Australia. It was a sad night it was totaled at the drags in a top end tumble. I remember that night, was about in my mid teens but dint stop me from developing a severe love of speed. Doc.
This is a willy's that my Dad owned back in the mid to late 70's. It was first painted green with a single carb. Later changed to yellow with dual carb tunnel ram setup. The third picture is grass drags 1977 Norsemen street rods rod run.The body was for sale several years ago and someone from Long Island bought it.
