    Hey Hemi Man,

Thanks for the great Willys and Anglia pictures!

Isn't the Hill and Hill Willys the Old Mazmanian Willys?

More from down-under and a mixed bag this time.

Ash Marshall's Scorcher at Calder. This was after the ex Leland Kolb car was damaged early in its Aussie career. THe frame was lengthened during the rebuild but at this time it still does not have its new Dennis Braid built front body panels.

Jeff Burnett's blown six cylinder Holden powered early Holden gasser.

Hans Klemme's Y block Ford powered B/D at Riverside in Melbourne at what was supposed to be the first Victorian round of the USA tour in 1966. The federal government owned the old airstrip that was being used as the strip and were somewhat concerned with the advertising of 200 mph dragsters at what was up until then pretty much a club level track and put the kybosh on the tourists. They later ran an event on the front straight at Calder which up until then had been strictly a road course venue.

Desi Byrne at Calder in what was the second late hemi powered fueller in Australia. Eddie Thomas had the first when he replaced the wedge in his car with a marine 426.

Nelma Reed in the family altered at Calder. The Queensland based team started out with a Y block Ford powered Anglia and then progressed to this 427 Ford powered car which later ran a blown early hemi. Her husband Jim was the car's primary shoe and now their son Steve runs an alky F/C, his wife has a TAD and their son recently ran a blown altered in the Supercharged Outlaws category.

Going through an old box of photos, found these that I took in 1964 at IRP on one of my first trips to the Nationals. Top one is Ohio George at the top end. Don't know who the Willys is. Also don't know who the two cars in the middle photo are. Bottom one is easier.

Hemi Man that is a great picture of the Shaker Willys, I have one of the same run from the other side of the track, that car was from here in South Bend In. and my dad helped out on tha car when it ran B Gas and A gas Supercharged. I just called Dick Szabo's son Steve to show it to him. They are alive and well still running Shaker Racing machine shop. Thanks Brad
