I just bought a '58 Chevy Del Ray. It needs mechanical and body work, so I'm going to change the look.

I'm curious to see what the flames would look like with louvers on the hood, so if someone wants to photoshop them, that would be great.

The photoshops were done by DRuss32. Thanks Dave!

If you have ideas that are not in the poll, photoshop them and post them.

So, let me know your opinion, please

HaHa! Yes they WERE! I bought it like that. I put 14" stock ones on for now, and just made a deal with a HAMBer for 15" Fenton slots.

Lowered with astros is my vote. If you are doing paint anyway, I think cars look good in any color as long as it is black.

Buddy, you sure do have a lot of fun projects to keep you busy.

the 58s look best with watson style scallops, , , ,my favorite is one built by andy southard, black with light blue metalic scallops, , ,don't have a pic handy, but i'm sure someone here could dig one up,,in mmy opinion, flames just don't work on these cars (in MOST cases), , ,

Hmm, I really like the flames, but they don't seem to be a very popular choice on this car!

I really like this look also. Luckily, I still have some spare trim from the Impala build!;) That's dad airing up the tires.

I don't like flames on this body style...it kills the lines of the car in my opinion. It needs scallops and supremes!

Jeff, I can't afford a Waton style paint job! Gotta save the $'s for the '38. This one's getting painted in the garage, by some goof(me)

I was just debating which rims, his or the ones that were on this car made me the dizziest!

Ok, so the flames aren't popular. I still like em, though.

What about louvers? Sure looked good on the Caddy.

I am not qualified to comment really, but I would be happy with one of these in any color.
The wheels are a definite improvement and flames can get kinder tiring after a while. Traditional with tasteful chrome would be my view of it.
    Hard to improve on perfection!

    Holy ****!

Umm, did I mention this is a low budget, garage paint job? If I attempted that, even the rat rodders would laugh!

Well , if you can paint good enough to do a complete paint job yourself in your garage, you sure as hell can mask and spray scallops, and it won`t cost an arm and leg either. I vote for the scallops on the DelRay.

I'd lower and leave her myself. I think the lines themselves are too nice to mess with flames or scallops. Good luck the 58 is definately on my wish list.

Haha! I NEVER said I was good enough, but I'm going to try it. I've painted some Harley tanks, but I've never tried a car.

But what the hell? It's not a show car, and I can always sand it off, right?
