I don't think I have ever noticed this as a topic before so I was wonder about this.

Did any of the elder statesmen of the HAMB have a Super Stock Dodge, Thunderbolt, or Z-11 when they were new or a few years old?

    How about Super Duty Pontiac's?

Did any of you have one later on, like in the 1970's?

    Pics?

had both 61 and 62 super duty pontiac's ran s/s in nhra 61 car was better then the 2
but i liked the 62 body style better. the 421 was not as relieable as the 389 way more work and always checking the bottom end .could not cure the 5-7 bearing problem

Cool idea for a thread. I remember being in grade school and a fellow cl***mate who had always talked about his father racing brought in photos of his father posing with a dealer-sponsored aluminum Max Wedge Mopar with trophies lined up in front of it. I also remember my father going to the auto parts store in the late-70's to buy some gaskets for one of his 409's and hearing of an aluminum front end '63 Z-11 Impala sitting in a garage right down the street. My father realized it was pretty rare and tried to buy it but the fellow just said he'll put his name down on the list he had in his wallet! That car just sat in it's little one garage until someone finally bought it in the mid-80's and it's all restored today.
