Ive got a few, but these are the only ones I have on the computer now, I have crashed a few times. Seems like I only draw trucks by looking at this. Eyebone, I really like your stuff and the pencil style.

That's a concept I'd like to develop. I've had some thoughts along those lines.

  7. Thanks Ned. I'd like to know how! Your piece is amazing BTW. Great fun working out how it goes together, what drives what etc.. Love the Helicopter blades..
I did the Merc in reaction against the 'period' perfectionism of the Merc scene. I threw the kitchen sink at it, a Ford from each of various decades, as a bit of a laugh.
Out of this comes a front with a Mk. 7 Jag type of aura. The sides would probably resolve quite effectively with fade aways. Dreams..
BTW speaking of Jags that a pert lil' E- job done there Mr. Norwell..

While not exactly a 'concept'...this '37 Dodge got built here in Denver...belonged to good friends of mine...actually, Harry built it for his wife, Pat (note wording on the side)...the delivery was black with dark green interior and accents and ran a Mopar engine...

BTW, this is all ink on paper, done by hand with a Rapidograph...no computer work here (other than the scan) and was done in 1982...!!!

I remember seeing this one and also in color along with a full size drawing at Johnson's Hot Rods several years ago. The guy paid $125K for the Lincoln at auction! Don't know where it went but it wasn't finished when it left the shop.

When I saw this I needed one it's a 1946 Ford Torpedo Speedster
    [IMG]

So I did some cutting and pasting and came up with this
    [IMG]

    Some more playing
    [IMG]

    Streach the front
    [IMG]

    And a Friends Photoshop
    [IMG]

Its got to be long and lean - str8 8 or 6 - with a front mount Huffer
All put on a 46 chassis with pinched rails and sucide front and real axle.

Fantastic work... I'll throw one in. Troy at Hollywood Hot Rods and I collaborated on a '32 coupe for a design article in Rod and Custom Magazine. I'll show some early idea sketches that got the gears turning. What we ended up with is the European inspired '32 Coupe.

Some early development - Idea is still coming to us...

    Stance starting to come together.

"European Inspired" idea is generated and the details start to bring it to life.

Here are some I came up with then I was about 15 - 18. Hope I'm not muddying up the thread with all the talent already posted. This was just pencil on notebook paper. I'd like to find a way to get the lines of the paper off the background. I'm not a graphic artist so I don't know what all tricks are possible.

Thanks Spoggie. I'd been thinking if my coachbuilt "aristocratic" formula - hood stretch, Z'd frame, raised fenders - could be made to work on a '49 Merc. I'd most recently been moving to a '34 truck shell, and extending the front fenders ahead of it. Perhaps it'd need something like a WWII aircraft engine to justify the resulting silly wheelbase, and I'm still worried about the proportions with that amount of length. If I get a free moment I'll try it.

    Oh yes.

Thanks Zombie, you are a true master! When I saw this one in Rod and Kulture my jaw dropped (hell it always does when I see your work) but this one was right up my alley, a green bubble top with a y-block way too cool.

Ok, so you all remember this? Posted a few pages ago it was the original concept sketch for my 53 Kaiser Manhattan...

Well the future wifey and i got to talking and i brought up the idea of a surf style wagon since we will be moving out to california where she is originally from. She loved it and a 2 days later we now have the current revised concept. We're gonna convert it from a 4 door sedan to a 2 door wagon, should be fun for me i gotta build it now! :D

Forgive the crappy quality i had to take a pic in a poorly lit hotel room.

Thanks. It's actually a re-interpretation of Professor Pat Pending's Convert-A-Car (I've done the other ten too ...) And if you look closely you'll see it's in correct scale and perspective, so despite appearances it isn't really a cartoon!
