Really nice. I've always envied that sort of sketch quality. I haven't got it, which is why I go about it mathematically, and draught rather than sketch.

    That goes for me too.

Where did you learn perspective drawing Dawie? Self taught?

High school art class, architecture school, and then a lot of experimentation on my own.

Frank Ching is a good source: http://tinyurl.com/ybq58yt

These days I'll often begin by building a simplified computer model in AutoCAD 3d or SketchUp, then print a perspective view and trace that onto a clean sheet of paper in pencil. Knowing about vanishing points etc. helps a lot when subsequently adding all the stuff that is more easily drawn in by hand.

Oh, I don´t need to learn it - I´m a technical illustrator. I just wondered how you got so good at it.

Just to go along with 40StudeDude on this one the time to do these can vary. If you're looking for a quick sketch or finished multi-view renderings, or a full build style sketch pack with all the details, parts, body mods, etc.

I try to do things on my own timelines. Some of the ballpoint sketches i had up took between 15-30 min each.

A more refined one for a full car view layout may take an hour if i know all the changes.

Full renderings like that wagon, each view took about 2.5-3 hours after i had the initial sketch done.

The price can add up quick depending on what you want done. I used to do these to help people land sponsorships, with a good proposal a company really likes to see the finished project before they bite.

Nice job po'boy! Non photo blue pencil? Did you use an underlay?

Yes, I used an underlay that I created in photoshop. Using reference photos that gave me the right perspectives and creating wheels on Asantiwheels.com Photoshop lets me play around with the layout without wasting paper, supplies & time. I'm one of those guys that can't draw without references, unless I've drawn the subject a hundred times. I get envious of artists that can just draw from imagination.

Depending on who does it, and how detailed,
    anywhere from $100 to $10,000.
