If that was Dick Hinson's car, I knew it when it was here in Denver. Nice guy, who is no longer with us.

There was a '40 Ford with a SOHC at the Beloit Autorama a few years ago.

Heo, Do a search on the FE Forum, and some on here, and I think you will find your answers.

My dealing with Dove, are less then favorable. Jim, was not a decent person, to me.

Lots of better cammer option these days.

All of this talk about SOHc's (and Colorado) brought back a bunch of old memories-when I was a kid I worked for John Bandimere Sr. at the track (oh, about '71 or '72 (?) can't remember exactly)-anyway, there used to be a two story building right close to the old entrance at the Track, and inside there all sorts of stuff (Meyer's Manx Dune buggy Bodies stacked about 7 or 8 tall), Frank Peterson's Olds Toronado Pikes's Peak Car, the old AMX "Frog" Super Stocker and a bunch of other stuff.

Anyway, one day John Sr. took me downstairs to the Basement-there was a line of new, crated SOHC's (about 8-10) in a row, and I stood there flabbergasted-it was an amazing sight-

35, I remember being a kid at the S Broadway store seeing 2 cammers on the floor. I shit myself, and set that as a goal to have a SOHC one day. Got lucky, and bought a SOHC when I was 18, in 1983. Washed dished, mowed lawns, and worked at Petersons Speed Shop, just to pay for the damn thing!

Here you go Eric and Jody.

Dyno went ok but ran into problems.Took awhile to get carbs dialed in and still have to do some more. Will get some more runs in next week.broke two adjusters on my rocker arms.apparantly they were modified to take a dove adjuster and just found out what I have are early ones that I guess were over heattreated and prone to breaking. Its always nice to find this stuff out after the fact. Its amazing to me that a certain business is still in business.Going to see if I can swap out with some T-D adjusters.Other tech sohc stuff to relay for those who want to talk about it just give me a PM and I'll get back with you.Still running too rich have to work on some air bleeds and go through some timing checks.Hit 601 with the last pull and really we were just getting started.

Ken;what is that old saying, one step forward, two steps back! What is with those rocker adjusters? They sidelined Jay Brown on his cammer too!!! I hope it didn't hurt anything else when they failed!! ROY

Wasnt really asking for huge numbers on this one.I just want to keep this one a street car.Being that most of this one is original parts didnt want to get too carried away.Would like to build a big race one one of these days.Maybe some of the durabilty issues will get worked out. Be nice if parts come down in price also.

    Speaking about that "company"
It is amazing, when you call up and ask about an issue its always you must of did something to break it.And when you have facts its always back peddling and comming up with that must of been an old part from way back when and they fixed the problem.Cant say I can say anything good about some of the companies in Ohio.
