It`s not really in the garage but out by the road so visitors can find us.

"look for the old yard truck"

My wife and I scrounged for two weekends and welded up this for display. The lights come on at night. Good use for a manure spreader chassis.

  2. This is pretty simple compared to most, but it makes a nice footrest. It's a slick off one of the Derrick Daley formula car school cars, 12 wide by 22 tall, makes a nice piece without taking up as much room as a big slick.

bump, im buying a house and need more ideas!!

  4. A few of these side by side along the wall of a garage would be great as fold up work benches - just mount them higher and add a flat worksurface.

This thing is amazing - what a great use of some old stuff laying around.

Might as well throw in a few of my own pieces ...... Not really any car parts, but I use old broken tools and miscellaneous recycled metals.

Dual Purpose Tailgater Silverware: 'nuff said.

(Don't worry, the wrenches were all junk - I wouldn't do this with good wrenches.)

Brass knuckle front fender on one of my bikes:

Okay, I lied - that's the box ends from 5/8", 11/16", 5/8", and 9/16", with sawed-off Allen wrenches as spacers and the handle of the 9/16" wrench as the backbar.

Chain guard from the same bike:

Not exactly "garage art," but a minibike I made from old tire irons, wrenches, and other recycled metals.

Friend of mine made these beer tap handles for my kitchen. One is a huge bolt they use in ship engines, the other is a bent and twisted connecting rod from a four-digit-HP Viper engine that blew itself up. Not much "making" here, just tapping holes, but cool anyway.
