The Kontinentals have graciously allowed the Yay-Hoos to once again organize minibike races at the 2010 Roundup. We'll post the final plan once we have all the details nailed down, but it should be real close to what we did last year. I'll do another post specifically to outline the 'official' rules for this year once they are finalized.

If anyone has minibike-related questions for this year's Round Up, please shoot them to me!!!

Here's the stinky from last year as rough guidelines:

FRIDAY - track will be available at 1:30 for practice laps, then we'll start races at 2:00. Races will be 5 laps each, limited to 4-5 bikes per race (dependent upon number of participants) to keep it safe. Friday's races are for funsies/bragging rights, and to hone skills prior to Saturday's main event.

SATURDAY - same plan as above - 5 lap races of 4-5 bikes per race. Winners of each race will progress to a single 5-lap final, the winner of which will be crowned Grand Champion and who will be obligated to buy beers on Congress Saturday evening.

THE RULES - the overriding goal here is to keep this a fun and safe event for all participants and spectators!! Therefore...
    - Vintage-style bikes (you know... we talked about this...)
    - 6hp max
    - Pull start only
    - No shifters/transmissions (torq-a-verter OK)
    - Must have working brake
    - Helmet, sleeves, pants, shoes, and gloves required to race
    - No over-hyper-zealous-competitive-gripiness allowed... let's keep it fun!!

    NOTES
    - This is a dirt oval race, not a drag race!

    - If you are not registered for the RoundUp, it is OK to bring your bike in with you when you purchase your general admission ticket at the gate.

    - Let's be careful on the minibikes outside of the race arena. There's gonna be lots of people and cars on the fairgrounds during this incredible event, and we don't need someone or something getting damaged due to irresponsible mini-biking amongst the normal folks.

Here's Beatnikontinental's post with general 2010 Round Up info:

Other than all the cool cars and people, this was one of my favorite parts of last year's Round Up. Hopefully, there will be enough entries. I wish my buddy, Hunter had one of these. I'd pay good money to watch him tear it up in the minibike race.

Watch what you say. The Ya-Hoos are a very powerful group with a brotherhood worldwide. We don't want to see any harm come to you! If you raise hell withem they'll move the swapmeet outside by hand so they'll have a bigger track. Have you never heard of " DW "?

Thats funny ! and no that is not what I was saying, Its a fire barrel I was making for the Thaw, the theme is hamb drag cars and clubs. I have not done one in a while , it take hours to cut out with a torch, this one is turning out pretty good.
