1965 Ford Falcon Futura. Built by me and my dad when I was in high school in 1996. Was actually a 65 front half and roof and a 64 rear and floor, spliced in the center of the door opening on the bottom and the sail panel in the rear. 302 bored .40 over, high lift cam and a C4. My mom did the interior in black crushed velvet for me, she also made the dice on the rear view at the same time which I have had in every car since and they now hang in my truck. And this last one is me back then enjoying the hell out of it.
First car I had was a 12 year old '54 Pontiac (Canadian model) 4 door given to me by my dad. I had it nosed (try THAT on a Pontiac), decked and painted an American Motors(!) Bittersweet Orange Metallic... 'Scuse the stance - it WAS the late '60s. -Dave
A 1950 ford business coupe, short back window, bought it for $7.00 from a friend of mine ,towed it home with a tractor
Mine was a 69 ford f100 shortbed stepside with a 360ci Rollin on 13x7 wire wheels and no front coils, it was the worst ride ever but it looked sweet.
1973 laguna ss. bought it for $50 back in '85. did not have my license yet, but had fun with it. car was hit in the rear so the frame was bent. still drove good and was a great conversation piece with the back all pushed up and to the side. ended up stripping it down and putting all the parts on a 74 chevelle.
my first ride was 67 international truck bought it at a farm auction for a hunerd put a battery in it drove it home. it even had a full tank of gas!
'40 Ford coupe. Dad took it in on trade (he was the local Ford dealer). This morning, it is home leaking on my driveway. Doubt that it will ever go.
My first car was a -50 Ford Prefect made to a pickup. It was a A-tractor, in Sweden we can drive those from the age of 16, and they can only do 30 km/h, normal drivers license is 18 y/o!
Mine was a 56 chev 4 dr 6 cly. I was 14 my dad got it for $50.Worked on it for about yr. then traded it for a 62 ford fairlane 2 dr with a 260 v8 and a 3 spd on the floor I thought it was the shits then!
'64 Corvair Monza Spyder in 1969. Chrome turbocharger. Sluggish 0-60, but surprising giddyup 60-115. Surprised many a Dart 6-pack. These pics are not my car. Mine yellow/blk int. topless.
A '67 Austin Mini in '84, swapped the original 848cc engine for a huge 1098cc engine with twin 11/4" Mini Cooper carbs, modified head and a better cam,on the original 850 gearbox relieved with a hand file to clear the stroke of the crank. Not fast, but could take most corners flat out and suffered from chronic brake fade 7" dia drums if I remember correctly. Great fun especially with the fuel guage that never read any lower than 1/4 full. Showing off in front of a Ferrari down a very narrow country lane, I had nothing to loose, flat out around very tight bends I must have made some 50 yards( mainly as as the ferrari was rather too wide for the road) then being left for dead a couple of hundred yards later as the road widened into a reasonably wide two lanes. Totally pointless but it had to be done.
a white 1958 Impala 2 dr that my grandmother gave me when she bought her 68 impala back in 1968, but my father wouldn't let me keep it because I was 14 and it ran go figure. the next year he bought me a 1959 anglia for my birthday, I put a sub frame with an axle in it, a friend of mine gave me a 409, I was going to put in it but my father nixed that idea he said it was a boat anchor but again I think because it ran and I was only 15 sold it than got a corvair when I was 16 and could drive
'56 Chevy 210 Wagon. Bought it in 8th grade....had it going halfway through my sophmore year in high school. Cruised Tulare and Visalia like it was going out of style hahah
62 Studebaker Lark. $400.00 Got me to High School every day. My best friend in those day's was JC WHITNEY. Porta walls, glow in the dark crap to spray on you'r dash knobs, curb feelers,oh yea don't forget the fringe around sun visors, and rear view mirror. Just about forgot STP.
57' Chevy 2 dr. post w/283 powerglide, paid $75 for it in 1970.That's the one car I "SHOULD" have kept.
49 Chevy 3600, got it when I was 13 for $300, running. (I'm 27 now) Still own it. Someday when I have a shop with the space to do it right, it's gonna get blown apart frame up work. Right now I'm contemplating redoing the brakes and throwing a 250 I got with a overdrive transmission in it and getting rid of the 57.
Mine was a 71 camaro, z clone,350,auto, first ride with it was my high school graduation, spent my senior year rebuilding it from a wreck to whats in the picture....
My frist car was 1948 three window chevy truck. I still have it today. I also had 74 pinto with a 289. It was fast. No pics of it. 892363
73 Cutlass Supreme. Gave 850 for it in '88. Loved that car then, not a desirable car but I have some great memories in that car, so I have a soft spot for them now.
YEARS ago, my girlfriend's Mom had a nice 73 Cutlass Supreme I got her. XLNT driver, XLNT. It was dark brown with white guts, and white 1/2 vinyl top
Mine was that yellowish/beige color, brown interior, brown half vinyl top. Dare I say it, I'd take another one now if I could find a decent one cheap
