I'd put them on this car.....already replaced the SBC w/ Desoto Hemi...
I'm starting to build a new chassis w/ a quickie to replace the Gennie rails I have under it now. Those new bones would look really nice on the new axle...

I'd love to get rid of my hairpins for those split bones. Plans include a '64 425 nailhead backed by a TH400, a 4 inch chop, full fendered, deuce tank in the rear, no hood sides and lake headers.

  12. Put me in......... I just hauled my 5W up to my workshop last night to take the body off and get the frame ready for paint. I'm using all the parts from my Tub chassis so it will be 8BA powered, 39 trans, Halibrand quickchange traditional 5W hiboy coupe. Great idea, thanks for the chance to win somethin!

What did you use for a water pump? This looks smaller than that on my DeSoto Hemi.

Note: I will add my coupe to the running when I get home to my PC.

  14. Hi Alex, I am going to start this coupe this year. It is going to have a 64 425 Nailhead hopefully with a 5 speed and a Q/C out back. What a great product. Please count me in. Heres a shot of the coupe:D[IMG]

  15. Alex,

Well , I seem to be in the market for some new bones. Here is my project 3 window. All steel body, original 34 frame boxed, the firewall and X-member have been pushed back 1 1/4" to allow the '51 Cad 331 to fit under the hood. The cad is adapted to a T-5 through a Ford 8BA bell housing. The rear is currently a stock '36 banjo with 36 bones and closed driveline. A Spadaro QC is in the future for this car. A model "A" spring and rear cross member are holding the car up. Right now I am missing the whole front axle assembly, the bones would surely come in handy about now.

How about my 29 Dodge Brothers?
i have some rusty bones that i found in a junk yard, and dont really trust them that well. Some heavy pitting on the insides. Im kinda going for a show/go early drag inspired build, all on a college kids budget. The rear wheels are gonna disappear in favor for some hurst cheaters

Im gonna be running a Hopped up 230 Plymouth.

  18. alex please consider this my entree

32 fenderless ford truck sitting on a set of rails you helped me out with. up front will be a 8BA covered with a hood and sides all in front of a open drive 3 speed and 35/36 rear axle and quickchange. plans are to be built all late 40s early 50s traditional with some inspiration for the salt.

Boy Howdy, those would be perfect on my 29 A V8 that I have been gathering parts and pieces for. I just made the deal for a complete and running 8BA that is sitting in a Jeep Wagon and although I have the stock wishbones those would be a real boost to the car.
So since I didn't have any photos of the pieces that I have been gathering I reached in my laptop bag for my trusty little blue bought it on Ebay camera and out the door I went. Then I discovered that I had grabbed my cordless mouse in my rush and I wasn't going to take one damned photo with it especially at 20:45 at night.
Back into the house and switch for the camera and away we go.

The general plan is a highboy 29 A sedan with the 8 BA and a T-10 four speed ( I have the four speed stashed in one of the sheds. Running that through the banjo rear end if it is in good shape as I have had it about thirty years after making a trade for it way back when.
i know it isn't a whole car or a running car but one that I have been picking up pieces for as I find them with the plan of having a clean A V8 with cycle fenders on the front and bobbed fenders on the back pretty much like you saw on the streets back when.

Ok, here is my coupe to be entered into the drawing. It is a '31 Ford coupe with 4 and 3/4" chop, running a 330 DeSoto, transmission per a four speed top loader Ford, third member is currently a '40 Ford banjo, frame is '36 Ford, grille and front axle are '32 Ford. I will be using the bones on this coupe of mine; if I should happen to win that is.:) Now thinking good thoughts.

BTW: I'm going for that early sixties look with this one.

Cool! Thanks for the response Spoons. I knew somebody out there was making an adapter to run the Smaller Block Chevy water pumps on the DeSoto hemi. I'm not sure if I'm going to need that yet or not.

i'll take this opportunity to submit this post for my brother. who's a member here but never really has time to post anything. having 4 kids and owning a business takes a lot of his time away from him. so IF by winning this, these would be handed over to my brother.

here's his project 29 closed cab truck.

The vehicle i would use these for would be the one in my avatar (hopefully that can count as my pic). It is a Ford TT.

It will be built as a pickup since for never made one. Plan is to use an A motor with a S10 5 spd. Stock style T frame, A style front axle with banjo rear. Juice brakes on all 4 corners, '40 Ford steelies and blackwalls. To the untrained eye it will look like an old truck.

i'd put them on my 36 ford pu but most likley on my 30 sedan, the bones on the 30 are totally twisted, the 30's gonna have a buick 350 with a custom log intake manifold , a suicide front end and a 4'' channel.

    Alex, Cool contest.
I started this build in the mid-90's, when 4-bars were the rage. I would really like to make these go away for a more late 60's theme.
After a long, long wait, messing around with a few other cars and raising a family, I plan on getting back on this car this spring, pulling the body to make some final chassis modifications, and get the chassis ready for paint and assembly.
