That Gary B. sprinter above(terre haute on hood) might be that thing he built with the open drive line and the fuel moved forward. Roy might remember sinces he's standing behind it...

Current photos of the Bowes Seal Fast Special sprint car built by AJ Watson. My dad and I purchased the car disassembled from Judy Maxson Jefferies back in 1985. We restored the car in the mid to late 80's, ran the car with the WRA with Stephen "Buzz" Gregory driving. He was a "gopher" for AJ back in the day. We restored the car again in the mid 2000's, my dad passed away in 07, my mom is 09. My dilemma: I need to sell the car and split the money with my sisters. Any suggestions? PM me if you are interested or have advice.

Welcome Offy 220. Sorry for your loss.

Great car you have and a dilemma i wouldn't mind having. Let's hope it goes to a good home.

    Kurtis.

Thanks Kurtis, the funny [?] part of the situation is that my family saw the rusty pile of bent parts and laughed. Never showed an interest until they found out it was worth something. Actually it was complete and in fairly decent condition, but I believe it had been sitting since around 1964.

Wynns 1 on here may be able to give advice on how to get the most for the car.My guess is one of the major Auction companies specializing in collector cars would be the best bet.

Hi Buildy, Thanks for the advice. I was hoping to avoid the Auction scene. I agree with Kurtis, I would like to see it in a good home.

This is the Earl Beale Offy, with Bill Schindler driving. Bill and Johnny Thomson would be killed in this car!

    Offy 220,
I saw Buzz drive your car at Willow back in…..1989 during one of the WRA events. Beautiful car and I always wondered who Buzz was, thanks for clearing that up. I was to shy to talk to anybody back then.
Sorry to hear about your folks. Is Buzz still around?

Sure, nothing wrong with wanting it to go to a good home. I just saw the part about splitting the sale money with sisters and thought you might need to maximize the sale amount.

I`d love nothing more than to see it go to someone with the capability to maintain and display, and also run the car in Vintage events.

I know I`d like to see that car in person.

    AugieAscot,
Buzz died several years ago. He drove Sprints for several years in the Midwest. Ran some USAC, IMCA and outlaw races. Pretty sure he won The Little 500 one year. He also worked For Louie Meyer Jr., helping him with the Ford Indy engines around 65,66. Then he moved out West.

I met "Buzz" when my dad and I had the car at Ascot at "Old Timers Night" around 1986. He stood next to the car all night in the pits and talked back and forth with Leroy [Birdman] Payne. Leroy worked for Watson. I didn't know either one of them, I just listened! Buzz told me he worked for Foyt as a teenage, later that night we went to his house and he displayed a photo of him with Foyt at I.R.P. He lived about a 1/4 mile from me! He was a wealth of information and all around great guy! Yes, he won the "Little 500' in '69. I believe he passed away sometime in the mid 90's. I appreciate all of the comments and suggestions.

I've had this old program most of my life. It is from the Sun Valley Speedway (now Anderson Speedway) in Indiana. The date on it is 1953. Not sure what they were driving in those days, so I put this on the 1969 or older thread. The only name I recognize on the driver roster is Audie Swartz.

    Crudbro----Sunvalley Speedway 1953.

In 1953 they were running what they called Hard Tops
(stock cars), mostly 37/40 ford coupes with a few 32/34 ford coupes and maybe a chev once in a while.
The pic of Bobby Beeson is in a roaring roadster from some time earlier.
The # 84 that Audie Swartz was driving belonged to my Dad. Beeson and Johnny Arnold also drove the #84 cars for Dad.
