I've run into this too and you gotta make a stand. If you give in to this you're done for.. everytime you get a hankerin' to bring something home you'll get a "no-go" from wifey. What I do now is bring 'em home.. put up with a little complaining and then it dies out. I tell her that the house is your domain.. do what you will, but my shop and projects are my thing... she is not invited to give me input unless it's positive. Of course it doesn't go over well and your going to butt heads, but unless this is a real eye sore around the place or is really causing some parking problems or whatever that is one thing.. but if it's just that she wants it to go... what the heck?

Next time you come home with a project bring some flowers and a shiny trinket to distract her from the pile of rust behind you :D

Uh, gee honey, the economy is really bad right now. Maybe that's why nobody is buying the truck. Guess I'll just have to finish up both of 'em and see if one will sell once they're finished. Nah, the price ain't too high. I can't just give 'em away, now can I?

    That oughta work, right?

  7. I can see I'm not the only person who was looking for the Option 3 Wife portion of the poll..

<-- Been happily married 10 years, in large part due to the fact that this conversation would never come up.

Wow,me too. Is her objection too many projects, too much investment or too much clutter? Did she object to just the A when you only had that project?

Stupid question, but did you talk to her before you bought the "35? Almost as stupid-how long have you been sitting on the A?

My wife talks me into buying projects before i am finished with the ones I am working on. I am not saying get rid of her, maybe she just needs obedience school.
I would sell the A and keep the 35 if I had to chose, but then I wouldnt have to.

You are kidding right? A man might not be mad forever, but a woman will sublimate that grudge for years, adding on a few layers of other failings one at a time and then hit you with it right between the eyes.

On the other hand, being married is a partnership, not a dictatorship. Maybe you guys need to sit down in a quiet moment and discuss why your position is important to you and consider the other's point of view. If you polled the HAMB for successful long term marriages I know you would find that the guys treasure their cars, but none would choose a car over their family.

someone once said " it is easier to ask for forgivenes than it is to ask permission". you just let them rattle on a little while, smile and nod, and pretty soon they find something else to get off on. done.

The 35 has more room-assuming you will let her ride in it after having to get rid of the A. I'd keep the 35.

AMEN!!! Oh and keep the 35.

Might I add that my wife (because we respect each other) lets me buy any car stuff I want. Even when I told her I accidentally bought a car off ebay. She just laughed...
