Ohhhh...now thats just sad. It must hold memories for someone or something to be left like that in the middle of the yard. RustyNY...thats a really good way to do it if you don't have a house nearby. In the case of the F1 frame I've been trying to get a few parts from the owners home isn't too far away....but they never seem to be home when I go to check! It's a 1/2 hour run outside my normal path so I don't get to the area that often. Eventually I'll get an answer one way or the other!
its on a fairly main road too - in plain site) -many have asked to purchase it (including my boss 20 some years ago)
I think someone is coming back for this one, so I don't know if it's abandoned: In the water next to it was another burried car I could just barely make it out tried getting a photo but couldn't see it in the photo. Here's a photo set I threw together of various cars & trucks I've found: http://www.flickr.com/photos/22343595@N03/sets/72157623250348653/
Im not a big vette man myself but that is ashame. Looks like he doesnt like corvettes or chevettes....sorry couldnt resist
I thought this was the advanced redneck anti-theft device. the regular anti-theft being the other car parked in front of your ride
i pass this car every time i go xmas tree hunting... i think theres a sign that says not for sale....geez i bet 20 years ago it wasnt too bad
Oxidized Ontario Orange. Say that 3 times fast. I like the '68/69 427 coupe in the back (or so it say's on the hood)
When they say your crazy show them this thred, anything is possible. http://www.impalas.net/forums/showthread.php?t=686
Because the color of the car is copper and is dirty...............Vette's don't rust, they get FUZZY.
Well no where does it specificaly state that removing parts off of a 1946-47 or 48 Ford in a ditch about to be covered over is illegal...case dismissed (based on prior court decisions by Judge Roy Bean - if you never saw the movie, you need to, good humor)
It's been posted before but here is a old Ford custom: Old Pontiacs found during a walk in the woods: This car still has it's desirable thick casting 389 and 9 1/4 gasser rear axle. Was a 1955 2dr hardtop:
Less than 5 miles from here. I pulled the frame out from under the 39 Chevy 20 years ago for a coupe I was building, with the owners permission of course. These have been sitting in the NH woods for a very long time and most of what you can't see under the leaves is completely gone. Anybody know what the one in the pic on the right is ? Plymouth maybe ?
I love pictures like this, and it's great when guys get pix 'cause these cars often aren't there next time you go by there. And, yeah, some are pretty far gone but are still fascinating to look at and think of where they went back when they were newer. On the positive side, SOME (or at least parts) will see asphalt again! Good thread!
The quarters have to be worth a few hundred $$$$$ each.. Id cart it off and see what it fetches. Im sure someone needs them......
1. '41 Ford pickup Sat in this field from '58 to '06, when I hauled it home. The Rancheros are still there. 2-4. Low Tide at Ventura Fairgrounds beach, where the Primer Nationals are held. Evidently, they used to push the old junk cars off the embankment and into the ocean in Ventura. Oh, the humanity. 5. '56 Fairlane in the Mojave Desert. Brought this one home too.
Stumbled on these one time two or three years ago when I was out cruising with some of my buddies back down in middle Georgia. Guy had a couple cars sitting out beside the road that we stopped to check out and then he showed us everything he had stashed in the woods. Dude was actually real cool to talk to and was more than happy to show us around. There were probably 30-40 cars back in the woods, but most of the more vintage things he had were trucks. He did have a '56 (If I remember right) Mercury that I somehow walked out of there without a picture of as well as a '54 Ford school bus. Everything else was later model muscle cars, and oddly enough he also had a bunch of Vegas and Corvairs. From listening to him talk, he'd restored a bunch of cars through the years and these were just the ones he didn't get to. Sadly, most of 'em were too far gone to do anything with by this point.
here are two i found a 52 packard 250 sport coupe and a 59 buick invicta. the packard has probably been there since the early 60s and the buick had a 68 tag on it.
