I've been searching for window garnish moulding for over 6 months. I've got a 28 dodge brothers sedan and my problems are 1) I have 7 windows to outfit with moulding (3 on each side and the rear) 2) I refuse to spend more than $60 (it's not a ford after all) and 3) the junkyards within 150 miles from me don't have any 1925 - 1934 4 door sedans of any make. Hell I even think I could make the moulding work if it came from an early 50's jeep wagon. Ugg... Has anyone tried to make garnish moulding by hand using metal or aluminum from a hardware store? I did try the search function on that topic and came up with nothing, if there is already a post about this, tell me about it. Thanks.
I made the garnish moldings in my custom '29 chivvy pickup from wood. If you are interested say so, I'll try to get some detail/closeup photos.
Got nothing to add, but wish you would have posted earlyer... I just sold a '27 dodge 4dr for $100 last year... think I still have some of the moldings for the windshield and a stock dash if you need em... shoot me a PM
What I was trying to say is that I can't find a set of moulding for under $60. I agree that $60 is a fantastic price.
Damnit damnit damnit !!!! that continues to be what I run up against. I am always in the wrong place at the wrong time. Two days ago I lost an ebay auction for a perfect full set of 30 plymouth mouldings by $1.00.
Yup: Alot of work but you can do it. The trick is to plan the shapes out, working from the centre of the mldg. out. Do the center then the edges. Make up the four parts then bring the corners together and tack it together. Fit, Fit,Fit, FIt,Fit then weld them up. About 16 hours in each door frame. As a Start!!! The Old Tinbasher
