The black curved piece that's about 36" long is the top piece for the dash. Header panels that go inside and out and attach to the wood header piece, it all sits under the visor if that helps. Package tray came out because the seats will go back further and you would need that space with the chop. It looks like a great start so.....are you going to tell us the price? Hummmmm?:D

thanks. I didn't chop, but I'm going to finish it.

After researching today.... and careful measuring I am fairly certain I have a 2 & 1/2 inch chop. I'm starting to think it looks perfect.:)

Keep the chop, its harder to un chop, than to finish the chop, and it will look great with it and highboy, the fire wall tells me its a 31....Roach.

Chop looks good. Subframe looks good. You will be really ginned when you get it blasted and clean. All kinds of repro sheet metal made for A's. Nice score.

The wishbones are 42-47 straight ones. The axle is 42-47 without tube shock mounting holes between spindle knuckle and axle bolt boss.

The red primer piece is the windshield wood header cover, fits over wood header under sunvisor above windshield.
The piece to the right is the cover under the wood header where the windshield hinge bolts up and the windshield upper rubber seal mounts.

I will be keeping the chop. I've done some measuring and I think its right around 2 or 2 1/2 inchs. Which is what I would have chopped out. They guy I got it from didn't cut the car, he thought it was four inches, which is a little much for my taste. But he was wrong and the chop is awesome.:D what is it about the firewall that makes it a 31? Is it the teardrop indent?

ginned? I'm not sure I follow.

so, the axle is a keeper? I wish it wasn't drilled. do you think the bones are worth anything now that they aren't straight?

thanks, It's starting to make more sense now.

You can use the 42-47 axle -- that's what I've got in my A. Posies makes a spring specifically for this axle in a spring-over-axle arrangement.

    Good luck

i have pieces from a chop if you are interested. I took 2.75" out of mine.

The tray looking thing is the rear window package tray, you also have an inner body panel brace holds the latch part to the body. Saw a header piece and some floor subframe in the pics also. Keep that axle and put that on the wall man. good conversation starter later and never know when you might need one.

indented firewalls were only in late 31, so if thats what you have its a 31.

I like the chop you have already, take make some pie cuts and finish it off.

You got one hell of a project on your hands, congrats!

My Girlfriend(soon to be fiance) just threw me a curve ball. God I love her. BTW she let me buy this instead of getting her a valentines gift:eek: She wants the car more than I do:rolleyes:7:06pm just so you guys don't think I'm a **** I posted and sold some extra parts from another project today and I'm going to surprise her with something

My original thoughts were to build something either with a Huge V8 or a nice simple flathead. With all the risks of trying to procure a good Flathead core, I was starting to lean towards a nice OHV....But then she said it. " If you are going to run a hood, does it matter what engine it has?" That got me thinking....

This could all change tomorrow, but....

My Goal for this thing is a daily driver. I don't commute far to work and I have some newer vehicles also for longer high way trips.(all pre-80 stuff but I consider it late-model) I really want something reliable and cheap to run, I've already got a fullsize truck(79 f250 extended cab for hauling), a muscle car(67 gto for going fast) and a convertible 4x4( 72 blazer for fun in the sun) so what am I missing to complete my fleet? An economy car! So I know this won't go over to well. But I'm starting to lean towards a 2.3 4cyl. It will run a full hood, so no one will have to see my ugly motor. I will probaly run a t-5 as well. what do you guys think? will the car be ruined if I run a newer motor?

BTW this is the vision I have of the car except shiny paint, a full hood and a little bit higher in the front since it's pretty hilly in Seattle and I think I might benefit from a little more approach angle.

    btw is this Ryans car?

Yes. Late '31 with the external fuel shutoff. I love those indented firewalls!

I might have to change out the firewall and make it a 30. As that is what I've been calling it:eek:

Id leave the firewall in it! Kind of an interesting piece, Ford used these late in production. Not super rare, but not real common either. I like them myself. I bought one to put into my '30 coupe to turn it into a '31. I just have to convince myself to remove the original firewall... Its probably the nicest piece on my car...

T-Man has ID'ed some of those pieces of "s****" correctly. You also have a closed car dash rail or "eyebrow", a package tray, and what appears to be some extra side panels for the roof.
