History Open Cars... or Why 9 of 10 women go "TOPLESS"

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by wingnutz, Feb 11, 2010.

  1. When I see people riding around in their open cars... they usually have the biggest smiles on their faces and I thought to my self That's why Nine out of Ten women prefer "Going Topless" because it makes them Smile!!!:D

The obsession probably started when we were children and we had a peddle car or a carnival ride which was usually a roadster and we'd equate anything open as youthful and fun...

Or maybe like in my case... we would have an Uncle or a neighbor that had a Roadster or a Cabriolet with a Rumble seat and they'd give all the kids in the neighborhood a ride.

It could've been the time when your parents would gather up the family in that Brand new 1961 Olds convertible and head on down to the local A&W stand for a tasty Rootbeer float treat!

Or taking the old convertible to a ballgame

Either way... open cars have always meant "FUN" for me and I wanted to share with everybody some of my favorite "Open Car" photos that I've gathered over the years!

Great photos. You can't deny the appeal of an open car. The feeling of freedom is undeniable. I, on the other hand, have never been caught up in the spell. I like riding in one on occasion but just don't have that "fire in the gut" to abandon all else in the persuit of one. I've had an origional '32 roadster that needed a lot of work. I traded it for the chop on my '32 2dr. I've had a Brookville body unassembled on the loft of my shop for years and so far haven't found the time to assemble it. Must be something wrong with me........................don't comment on that.:D

  14. I agree Frank. Milner just wouldn't have looked as cool in a roadster!

  15. A of other cars sneaked in here but I've seen the movies and I know they were in open cars as well!!!

Life begins when you get a roadster! There is something indescribable about being part of the scenery and seeing the whole picture!

    Thanks for the great photos!

  17. I love seeing your smile while you're driving your Roadster!:D

I'm having a hard time locating those photo's of you and Denise as well as other girls enjoying their open cars!!!

Never been a big "fan" of 'vert's or roadsters....
I'll always see 'em as "chick" cars.....or for the VAIN.
A roadster will never be as "evil" or TOUGH as a coupe.
There are a few roadsters out there that I do dig however.....so don't hate me too much...haha! :D
And a '61 Olds, well....that's the creme of the crop for 'verts.....

My ex said it best, "Women like to look good and be seen looking good." Everyone gets a nice look when she's sitting in a ragtop. You guys ever notice the looks that are given to someone in a ragtop by people in a hardtop? Pure envy.

I've been hooked ever since my first drive in my roadster!! I just wish it had a windshield! ;)

I'm fixing that and a few other things, and then I'm looking to putting a LOT of miles on it this summer!!

I know this is a roadster thread, but I have to agree with FAB32. I'll take a closed car. If I want wind and sun I'll open the window.

WingNutz is talking about women going topless.

I have always had a convertible in my life, since the very first car I bought at age 16. To me, there is nothing better then cruzn topless.
