Here in New Zealand in the 50s or 60s a guy named Ron Hogan built twin plug heads. I sure hope someone puts up a pic of these.

 

Saw a pair of OSIECKI RACING last weekend on a Model A roadster. Didn't have a camera.

Thanks to Big A, found a replacement to the one that was welded up.

 

Those are great heads and hard to come by. Cool water logs like the Smith heads.

Almost bought a set of Kongs from the man himself in '92. Went with Navarros from Barney directly.

Oh well.

 

Last night I was holding a Bronze Alexander V860 head, I'm sure that is a rare one. I will take pics on my next visit.

 

Wow. 21 stud Evans block letters heads withe the center outlet (37-38 only) are insanely rare.

I had finned cast iron heads with "Kogel" inscribed by the water inlets on my Model A project in 1959. I've never seen another pair and would like to learn more about them. I traded the engine for a couple cases of beer in 1963.

Hey I didnt know that Thickstun made cast iron heads. Are they the early ore the later style? Do you have any more info

 

dunno if they are rare, but heres another edmunds design, how many different edmunds types were there??

As what I know on those 24 stud three different pair to 59AB. But I not 100% But who was first? Any one whit more info.

Kogels are certainly cool. They had two types; a "street" and a racing version. There are copies of their adds in one of the Hot Rod Mag. reprints.

What makes them rare today is they had a flaw that would cause them to crack. If you find a set, have them magg'd or really, really look them over carefully.

It is not uncommon to see these heads cracked and you don't realize this until you've got a cylinder full of water/coolant.

The racing version had a crazy looking chamber/ramp around the valves.

 

I know a guy here in New Zealand that has one 21 stud Allard head, could have got it but figured it was not much use without its twin, heres a couple of pics of my 24 stud Allard ala of Bill Perriton.Also a pic of Hogan heads and manifold, made buy Ron Hogan as posted earlier, sorry I don't have pics of the twin plug Hogans.

They are from Norm Frick. CNC'd and will/can build them to your specs. They are two piece as you see the allen head bolts around the spark plug holes.

He is also a very cool guy to talk with.
