Who in their right mind would want to sit outside while driving. Just dumb!

Thanks, wingnutz...I needed a thread like this. Haven't built my pile of parts into a roadster yet. Gotta sell a couple of my 1/2 dozen cars. This clinches it. If I have to sell every single car I own but one...the roadster stays.

I love this picture. It reminds me of the "Somewhere West of Laramie Girl". Both car and girl are captivating.

No paint, but 45 out today and I gave my son his first ride in it... He laughed and said do it again dad. I just said ok but don't tell mom.

My '65 Chrysler 300 convertible might be a little too new for this forum, but I'm posting it anyway. (Yes it's as big as a whale ;) )

Have a gander at the looks on the faces of the people IN the car, and the ones OUTSIDE the car...
    Says enough right? :D

Also, don't put a girl behind the wheel of your convertible.... They might get a bit possessive after a while... ;)

No top on car- top at home. Got caught in a summer downpour on the way to a show 100 miles away. Somehow, I got pinned between 2 big wheelers. Couldn't see shit (ordered perscription WileyX goggles the next day). From both sides of the car- it was like a fire hose pointed inside. It's funny now but not at the time. I looked like I fell into a swimming pool. I turned around & went home.

Sorry Slick Willie, it ain't a Dodge. Cowl lights and windshield are wrong, door handles too low, and doesn't have enough hump in the fenders. Maybe a Buick? Great thread Wingnut!

Funest car I ever owned was a 59 chevy fourdoor which I whacked the top off of. One night a buddy and I were in a neighboring town about 20 miles from home when it started to rain pretty hard. Without a roof of any kind we were starting to get wet...so I pulled over and took the blanket I had over the seat off and closed in the doors and stuck in under the sunvisors and away we went. I turned up the defroster and looked over at my buddy...Hes just grinning from ear to ear and he says "Hey Weed this alright". It looked kinda like a 59 el-camino ragtop, but worked really good.....

Convertibles LOOK like fun, then you ride around in one with the sun beating your ass into the ground, it's not so much fun anymore. They are only good in 75 degree weather...

I guess you could say that about motorcycles, sailboats, Jetskis and bi-planes. You either have it in your Genes to love it or not. Gimme my cars open-wheeled and topless!

    Pussies!

My Mom wanted a convertible all her life and was finally able to get one in 1963 when she bought a brand new Ford Galaxie rag top right off the showroom floor. My dad had a fit, but she loved that car. I was in high school with a shiny new drivers license at the time and I guess that's where my love of rag tops comes from.

Today our roadster has no top and neither my wife nor I would put one on it. If it gets cold, well, that's what jackets, hats, and gloves are for. My wife used to own a Honda S2000, and putting the top down was almost automatic every time she started it.

Even my daily driver '02 Mustang is a convertible. I keep a jacket in the trunk and the jacket will go on before the top ever goes up.

  28. Glad those two kept their shirts on!!!!

Almost every shot of that Roadster shows it "Listing" starboard... not because of weight or improper suspension... it's because I was always on the throttle and that little bastard had some torque!!!

  29. Hell! I'd cry to if my 'Bird got hit like that. :p

  30. My wife sure likes hers! and i like her topless too! You should see how she works in her garden. ;)
