ok I posted this in another thread but I would really like to know what brand this is it has a finned fuel block I guess thats what it is and has AN fittings.... the guy was given this.....has no markings that I could see
I'm with Mike, it appears to be a Eddie Meyer, but it should be clearly marked right on top of the base manifold between the runners. Very cool find, worth serious getus. Don't run fuel through the "block", it's a heat riser.
2nd version eddie meyer... had teardrop logo base and the tall fuel pump stand... 1st version was the same top with a block letter base and lower fuel stand thats a water manifold on the side to flow around the base of the carbs is it for sale? pm me if so Zach
I just sent the auction to *Bud* Meyer......it will be interesting to hear what he thinks about the price!! CB
Thanks Ill ask him if he will part with it....it was just given to him so well se how attached he is to it
it didnt have any markings so im wondering if this was missing didnt really pay attention if there were screw holes or not
No, Eddie Meyer never made a fuel block like that. Those came about after the $$ *****s started jumping on the nostalgic band wagon. Sorry, that is new. That intake is pre-war and fairly rare. I mean the term rare in the truest sense. A famous hot rodder in CA has one for sale on E-Bay right now. It is at $2,900 with I think 5 days left. Your buddy is either the nicest guy in the world, the luckiest guy world, or one of the best sweet talkers in the world to get that intake for free.
Yeah, it's at $2900 with the reserve not met! What really cracks me up is this seller makes a point to say that the buyer is responsible for shipping. This kind of money and the guy wants to gig the buyer for shipping. GMAFB!
well the story goes the guy had this in a shed and he knew jerry(the guy im dealing with) had alot of old model t and model a parts so he had him over one day helping him with some stuff and he gave it to him...the guy is a really nice guy and a hoot to talk to....he has about 25 cars and he still picked up a 57 ford that he was going to get...man I wish my wife had that much tolerance
It's definitely a first generatin Eddie Meyer, with the water jackets. I've got one just like it I was mocking up on an engine today. Doc.
Definitely an early Eddie Meyer. If your buddy just ends up selling it for big $$$, he should do something nice for the guy that gave it to him. It is none of my business WHAT, but he should do something IMHO.
Looking at the new pictures, I wonder if the top and botom are from different sources. I'm sure the top is a Eddie Meyer, but the bottom should say Eddie Meyer right on the top They also look like they have different patina (might just be the pics).
I think the bottom is EM as well -- as the rounded port shape is very typical of the early EM stuff. I've not seen too many other designs with the rounded areas above the ports.
I'm not so sure. The one that I had came with the smooth bottom in this picture. The vendor thought that someone had ground it off. I finally found a bottom with the logo but if you look at the fuel pump/breather stand, they are 2 different castings. The one with the logo is a lot taller for the fuel pump. Mine came with the block off plates for the carb heater for racing when you didn't want to warm the carbs. It looked like the bolt holes were drilled by hand when ***embled because the top fits both bottoms except the holes are slightly off between the two. I've only seen one other actually running on a car. It was on a Deuce sedan at York many years ago now. It had the manifold heater hooked up.
Well the guy threw me a curve ball I ask over the phone if I could by the intake while setting up a time to get the ch***is I was buying....weel when I got out to his house we loaded the ch***is and while I was paying him he said "well Ill never use it so ill sell ya the intake" man was I stoked and here she is well Im not sure if im going to keep it or not I need money for my 29 build
well with better pics is it still a eddie meyer I cant find a single marking on this thing.....was he the only one that had the water block
Has a good pair of 94's on top It has been painted and its dirty so I may clean it up today and should I repaint it or leave it as it is
interesting. This one has the tall fuel pump stand with no logo. Just the opposite of the 2 that I had in the picture above.
