Hot Rods Gave my roadster an altitude adjustment, how's it look?

Well I got to looking at the roadster and I think I have the rake down pretty good but it was sitting up in the air a little too high. I took the rear spring out, and dis***embled the spring pack. I took the top three leaves off and cut them down to twelve inches long each. I then placed them in the bottom of the stack, moving the main leaf up in the stack which lowered the car about three inches. After I was happy with the rear I took two leaves out of the front but it only dropped the car about 3/4". Now the bottom of the front axle is 6.5" from the ground which should be sufficient for the ****py Michigan roads. I also whipped up a quick headlight bar although I think I should've made it out of a little thicker material. I think it looks too skinny. I also got my front shocks on.

I've only got three more days off before Autorama. Hopefully I'll get my rear axle soon (its a seized up junker under there now) so I can wheel the car outside and get some perspective. The first pic shows the roadster before the suspension drop. How's it look?

I should be there. I haven't figured out where I'm staying, but that's usually never a big deal.

In the first picture? If so, that's the spare tire carrier that has since been removed.

Nah, this is a late 1940's inspired build. This is about as low as its going to get. I've already got a ground s****er (see my avatar):D

Well not literally drop the axle, guess I worded it incorrectly. I meant drop the front of the car down a little more.

Looks good. Will you be bringing the rear wheels closer to the body?

Yes, slightly. That dummy axle is a 46-48 which is a little wider than the 1938 banjo converted to juice brakes that will be under the car when its finished.

Glad to see you're going with a `30 radiator shell. Deuce's are pretty -- I'm not saying that -- but it's what EVERYBODY does. I think the Model A shell just looks good on a Model A.

I think you ought to put a Studebaker grille shell in there, but I might be biased.

Looks good...but yea, the headlight bar would look better out something bigger...like 5/8" round.

Otherwise, the car is looking great.

I hate the term "rat rod", nice ride though.
