I'd go with the axle. I have a torsion bar kit in my 5 window, but if I had it to do over again, I'd keep the axle.

It's a hard choice. Seems like everyone is building the same car these days. It's getting tough to build a 3 window and stand out.

You haven't really determined a style yet that I have seen.

    Prewar?
    Postwar?
    Fifties?
    Sixties?
    Hot rod? Custom?
    motor?

  2. Im going with a full custom 36 ford chopped....seems like alot of people are building the same car but i havent seen them out... the people with nice 36 fords hardly bring them out and most of the shows i go to hard see any but one or two ... compare to your usual fords and chevys....

    Gasser, gasser, gasser, gasser......:D

As much as I absolutely love Westergard "style" customs, a '36 coupe done up as a race car would be cool....

  4. I've seen a few 3 window gassers

No, stock dash, '48 Pontiac gauge cluster, stock '36 gauges are just to "grandpa" looking for me!
The grill is the front focal point of the coupe, you would have to be missing the '36 grill to change one and even than they are still out there..............

This horse has been beat before.
And majority of people on this site that commented that have had both (axle and M2) preferred the axle front ends ride.
Ford got it right the first time, your in the minority.

35 and 36 three windows make better Hot Rods than tail dragers

I agree with previous posters...... Build it like your truck. Your truck has a great look.

NO pissin contest here,on a fat car in the weeds you cannot see the axle why would a person want a axle the rideis NOT better, handling is not better.tire wear is not better give me a break, just because some one says it has to have a axle to just say I have an axle in mine is crazy.Like I said T"s A" 32-34 mustang looks like shit. There has been allot of different stuff done to get a better ride for highboys and some dont look to bad but the axle is the proper choice for them but on a fat car MII is the best choice when building one.You want a traditional ride, are you also saying air bags is out,8 and 9 inchers are out I guess banjo rear ends is the way to go Huh. My opinion I may be a minority but.

  24. I was thinking of installing my caddy engine on my 36 ford the one that's in my truck and put and oldsmibile motor on the truck a running motor that I
    found

  25. thanks l was looking for another caddy
engine but might just use the one I have on my 3 window

  26. ill keep that in mind ....thanks

  27. Car is staying in the usa the person that owns the car, his name is bugs and he is from france but moved to LA about 5 years ago and is a tatoo artists and also started doing art deco style knobs and dash pieces that he cast. I talked to him for about a hour at the Grand National show and was really laid back guys and was eager to give all info on the car. 36 3 windows are becoming the 32 3 window price range so this is what I am doing to get a 3 window.

I must agree!!! a 36 ford coupe is one of my "to do" wish list (black of course) and this is a great example of what it should look like....all stock with a touch of rhinestone cowboy here and there (chrome) for good measure....
cant say I like the side vents though...I would stick to the original look there

I didn't mean the OWNER. I was talking about Chris, the guy who BUILT the car. He worked at HHR and then moved to Europe, Paris I believe.

Well, this isn't a stock 3 window. If you see it from the side, alot different than a stocker. Of all the 3 windows made from 5 windows or sedans in the last few years, this is the gold standard! I'm sure most would agree.
