What is this worth?

I have a 1960 Ford Falcon that I am trying to sell, but not quite sure what is an appropriate price. It has no body or interior modifications. Rear, ******, and engine are from a 65 Mustang and are a 200ci and a C4. Put in front 3 point seat belts, electric wipers, and dual master brake system. Car has ZERO rust on it, but it is a (literally) daily driver and has a few scratches from aholes in parking lots. Garaged all the time and was bought and spent all it's life here in the Atlanta area.
I have a price that I've set, but I want to see what the majority on here think it is actually worth.

Any input would be great! Thanks!

use eBay completed auctions to gauge the current market pricing. It might not be exact but it'll be pretty close.

That thing looks clean as hell in the pics. I would start at $4500.00 and see what happens if I was you. You can always drop the price if you have to.

I've looked on ebay and the ones that are remotely as good a shape as mine are listed in the $7000 - $8000, but that being said... None of them have sold. So it really comes down to even if it's worth more if no one will pay it, it doesn't matter.

An old car is worth what a buyer is willing to pay and the seller is willing to take on the day of the sale. Then all bets are off.

Saw a fordor at a sale go for 3400 Cdn. a year or so ago. It was in as good a shape as yours, with the original 144 six and a three speed stick. The tudor should be worth half again that price, I would think. 5 grand, maybe?
But like the guy sez, it takes a buyer to make the price.

Do a little more research online. I think there is a national Falcon owners club. Someone there may have a better idea of it's market value and may in fact have a cl***ified section where you could list it. Looks like a nice, clean car but don't expect the kind of money that a comparable later Falcon Sprint or Futura with V-8 might bring. Good luck.

I've had this car for a few years and have been very into a lot of sites for Falcons. I know this isn't the most desirable year, but I'm looking more for opinions on what someone would pay for a car like this. If it really is $2000 than fine, I know where to start. But the more random people who give me a number the more I can refine my number.

You asked for opinions and he gave his :)
In today's economic turndown ... there is NOT a lot of money floating around. Even the more desirable vehicles are not moving like they were and when ( and IF  ) they sell ... it is for a good bit less than a few short years ago.

I have a friend who has tried to sell his 1963 FASTBACK ... Falcon Futura ( not a Sprint ) ... all original ( 170 / automatic ... no rust ... 89 thousand easy miles ), it is white with a red interior. He cannot get $3,500 for it. :( SO ... yours being a 2 door post car ... I agree with the 1,500/2,000 maybe a touch more price.

My friends 63 Falcon has been listed on Craigslist ... here and other places. Atlanta is only 3 hours from me ... so the market should be close $$$ wise to Atlanta.

    Money is TIGHT ...

Sorry ... it is just my opinion ... And the sorry economy

From what i've seen , I'd say 3500 -4000 . Car seems real clean . If it were mine ,I'd start at 4k and see what is offered .^^^ True about selling prices being low right now though .If you don't need cash right away , I'd hold on to it for a while before taking less than 3k .

You also have to CONSIDER ... the location of people's opinion.

Your Falcon is most likely a LOT more common ( in decent shape ) here in the South than say ... the salt, snow all winter areas where rust free cars are way less common. You Falcon would be worth more $$$ there.

BUT ... will the guys from up there travel and pay the $$$ for a better, rust free vehicle ??

I have found that NOT to be the case ... in the less expensive, less desirable rides.

Buddy of mine just bought a 64 Falcon Sprint with V8, power steering, magnum 500's, and cruise-o-matic for $3250. Seemed to be very solid and in similar condition to yours overall.

I'd say if you could get $3000 - $3500 for yours I'd take the money and run.

It'd be worth a lot more if it wasn't located on the exact opposite side of the country from me:D That's a good lookin' car.

A guy here in OKC has had a '62 Falcon coupe on his lot for three years, priced at $5,995, so you can figure that as too high. His is probably as nice as yours is. And he will not budge on that figure, so he is pretty proud of it.

I'd figure anywhere from $3K to $4K for your car, if you want to sell it in 2010.

Besides, you know what you want for it. Put it in the Cl***ifieds and run it! If your email box burns up, it's priced right. If spiders take up residence there, it's too damn high.
