I'm starting to see chromies on a lot of newer vehicles around here - I spotted a set on a Matrix the other day:

I thought they looked a little out of place in this application however, but if they are now making a comeback, perhaps you might check with some of your local tire shops.

Something looks funny about those "chromies" on the econobox. It's probably a metallic paint; not bright enough for chrome.
    And no I can't plate wheels :(.

Looks like powder coat chrome to me.

  4. It's been a few years, but I remember you could buy them from sears.

  5. Heh-heh, you could also buy baby moon hubcaps for $1.00 each there! You are showing your age.:D-MIKE

Cool thanks a bunch for the input guys! I was perusing summit's catalog since I have a friend I visit often that lives a few miles away from there, found American Racing also makes nice chrome reverse for about 94.00 a wheel. Has anyone used them? right now I'm looking at coker, rally america, and american racing.

No, they were definitely chrome plated wheels - just with a couple layers of road grime on them to take away the shine

just make sure you get the wheel vintique version if you plan on running them without smoothie caps, they look kinda cheesy in the universal bolt pattern style.check out the 64 series on summitracing.com, they shipped mine in less then 4 days with no problems

Wheel vintiques............ BUT.........if you order them through SUMMIT RACING you save about 25$ a wheel and free shipping. Summit sells WV!!

  15. Wheelkid will make them for you with one bolt pattern, and super nice chrome. I believe Jason at Bear Metal Custom has single bolt pattern as well; support little guy/H.A.M.B. companies! These guys will both talk to you on the phone personally, and build what ever wheel you want, for a fair price, no China.
