Use to have a daily driver black on black 66 Riviera and those 66 Rivs are killing me!I loved that car. This threads killer, thanks for the pics.
^^^Hey are those rally caps?^^^^^ They look good on it! Incredible what stance could do to a car! Gooz the video is heartbeakin! i want more! Whats weird is that the very few seconds look like this car (today times) but the imp its straight outta the 70s!
Thanks guys....Me and my buds put that car together for my wife. It seems like someone told me the hubcaps were used on 66 or 67 Chevy IIs.
Around here they're called any one of several names, but not Rallys Dog Dish Caps Poverty Caps Police Caps Taxi Cab Caps. The 1st 2 are nicknames, 2nd 2 are actual
At a 1st look they looked like rally wheel caps but then i remembered where i thought i see them all the time! In my pal late 80s ex military chevy doublecab fullsize truck, but of corse theyre not the same. Anyways! These 2 Caminos from GNRS look like they came straight outta the late 60s show circuit! Any info and more pics of'em is well appreciated!
Ok, now i see, so this was called King Orchid and was Jesse Valadez bro ride! Ive seen it hundred of times and thought was great but never knew its name. Where is it now? Is it still intact? or junked ? And then again, how the heck do i recognize a Caprice from an Impala? They both hardtop, so i guess its a trim thing...am i right?
Man, I loved those two at the GNRS, and PM'd Axle about them a couple weeks ago. The gold one belongs to Mark Idzardi, and the pink one is his girlfriend's ride which apparently started as a parts car before the Shifters kicked it down some serious style. The gold car is bagged, and the pink car is lifted...
Thanx Chris And Tinman too, wow, Shifters are bordering into lowrider area i see...thats freakin kool of them! Do you have anymore pics of the Caminos other than those from the coverage? Ive said this already but they really look like they were built back then. Those guys never stop throwin out nice cars.
Ask and you shall receive. Also, search youtube for Lighter Shade of Brown, Latin Active music video. Its one of the main cars in that video.
Man I love these pics, I have an 83 Coupe DeVille however, I want to do it a lil different and make it very ol school looking. I love Traditional customs and ol school lowriders. This is how it looks now. Im thinkin of doing tru spokes, flake and lace paint.
Way way way way way way too much! And WHO says it's a LOWRIDER when it sits a half a foot HIGHER than stock? Just askin
I agree. But the lowrider movement has been and always will be evolutionary. Imperials have always had cars that have broken molds and set trends. Not every one of them is my cup of tea, but they still hold their place in lowrider history. I definitely feel what you're saying though Groucho. There was a time when a lowrider had to lay. And show points didnt mean shit. Some of us are stuck in that time period...and proud of it.
