I'm not good at fixing backgrounds so you'll have to forgive me.

I checked with Ryan, and it appears that a "sticky" cannot be used in a thread like this, only in social group threads.

Too bad. I didn't think that was possible as I've never seen it around here before.
The only thing I could think of doing would be to post some guidelines at the beginning of each new page. That would be a pain, but it might save some grief for all involved.
Thanks for asking Ryan about this Skoh.:)

  7. Found a better pic, rather than try and paint your car.

  10. Went back and hammered on and shaved off a bit more on the ol' Tin Indian. It really lost a lot of it's Pontiac identity, at least from the side view, but that's OK I guess. Just removing the side chrome, especially the gravel guard, made it look a lot longer, even before I dropped the roof a few inches.

I think the roof should really slope back a bit more and end closer to the trunk lid, but I wanted to see how it looked with the chrome belt moldings intact.

Next, maybe some different paint or some scallops???

Alright, can anyone do a background please? Any dragstrip in the 70's would look cool.

I didn't know if you wanted the orange on top or bottom. If this isn't what you wanted, I can swap the colors around.

The wheels aren't perfect, but you get the idea. Yanked the handles and took the script off of the rear. I don't want to sound like an idiot (funny how often I say that on the HAMB), but what's the make and model? I really dig it.

It's a '62 Merc Monterey. At first glance I thought it was a Galaxie but then I noticed the tail lights. Then I cheated:eek:, went to Philbilly's profile and found the answer there. I'm surprised you don't see more of these in both the 2 and 4 door variety.

I gotta tell ya, the white roof did NOTHING for me! It made the top look disproportionate to the rest of the car. It might be the angle, but I'm telling ya, at least in my photochop, dog butt ugly! :p That's not saying someone else might make it work...I just couldn't

My blue ended up darker but I like it, so here ya go:

I know this is nothing at all like you requested, but i had a play around with my extremely limited photoshop skills (if you can call them that!), as it was a good clear pic to practice on. I hope you dont mind!

Added a few Zocchi style stripes to the sides.

Edit - bah! Beaten to it! Why if it weren´t for that pesky, meddling skoh....:D

Thanks skoh73 and James D for the photoshop. That's what I was thinking about. It is a 62 Mercury Monterey like sdhotrod said.

Thinking of some astros with pinners. Sorry for the side view, I will try to get a better one this weekend.

if any one can please put it on astros with pinners and maybe slammed and possible a 2nd shot of it with some flare to the paint?

my other thought is because its 5x5 spider caps are not available but was thinking of the chromes that are on it with a push thru bullet and some bullet lug nuts, but there will be extra empty holes due to the multi lug patern

    Thanks

Ya, that looks great. Thanks for your time!

If anyone would like, I would love some other ideas of what I could do with this truck. Feel free to get creative.

Well, I looked around but all I could find is this old newspaper clipping of when the car was run at the Detroit Dragway...

James D- that was funny! Yours blows mine outta the water. That striping just makes it pop. As usual, nice work.
