Got really close to Casey a couple years ago working with carbies for HAMB Andy. Been tight ever since. Was just talking with him a couple weeks ago about hookin' up at the Round Up this year and having a few beers. Go with God, my young friend. You are now among the greats of our hobby.

Reggie spoke about Collin being part of this community - that is true. But Collin was more. He was actually part of the "glue" that makes this a community. Hell, a lot of us would just stand around with our hand in our pockets if it weren't for Collin and guys like him. Really living the life, the ultimate daily driver, no strangers, just friends he hadn't met yet!

I'm one of those guys. Collin was one of the first to welcome me to the HAMB, e-mailed me often, invited me to the drags, and never failed to cross an event to say hello and BS. And I only knew him for a couple of years.

I can't improve on Lux's comments. He touched my life and I know a lot of you guys (and gals) really lost a magic guy.

    RIP

I got to talk to him at DOTD and our little car show in Burnet. He was always generous with his time and presence. What a shame.

Man, I hate to hear that. I never met the guy but I've heard lot of stories about him. Nothing but goood things. I always heard that he was the life of the party and would drive the piss out of his 32. My heart goes out to his friends and family. R.I.P.

Met him once in Burnet and he had a big audience around his coupe telling about all the axles he had been breaking and I got caught up in the story. Neat guy with a big smile ..RIP..

  20. I'm just staggered by this news - Collin was a fixture at the Drags and the Round Up - I think he had a better time than anybody. Such a funny guy - he drew a goofy picture of his flathead beating mine at the drags on his last registration for the Round Up with an arrow that said "you" - always quick with the trash-talk, but all in good fun - he was a incredibly kind guy every time I saw him, quick with a smile. Like Lux said - broke more stuff on that coupe and drove the hell out of it - always...

I looked up his last post here on the HAMB - it says it all:

you guys are funny mines still in a pile  I don`t think I`m gonna make this one.
hope you guys have a great race.
someone do some victory donuts for me :p

The loss of Collin Casey seems so unreal. To know that he is not working on his coupe or going to email me a nasty joke …..Is hard! He told me a couple years ago..
“ I want my ashes scattered down the little river drag strip,… Hell on second thought, just pour me in the flat head and blow me out down the strip…”
I will miss looking out towards Dripping Springs and knowing there’s a car guy over there, …..Obsessed by speed, and.. the H.A.M.B. , also the pursuit of a good time…
It bothers me that he won’t get to finish his shop ….. I will miss seeing him in his brown leather 1980’s coat, with a beer in his hand … He touched our lives … I will miss him !!

Man I never meet him but from 'chatting' the on the HAMB I developed an awful lot of respect for Collin. He was such a great stand up guy with a terrific sense of humor, this place wont be the same without him.
Jeez,..... I cant believe 'Crazy Casey' is gone, what a shock it is.
I know he will be in that place only the best go, bench racing with Micky T and the rest of th greats.
    Doc.
