the odd ones on the posting are an 18" and these are 3 5/8 or 3.5. I got these for a buddy of mine who happened to have the rears in an 18x5. very early wheel. 5 on 5.5 for pin drive. very small pin like midget diameter.

the other halibrand 18 indy wheels are unique because they have the lip around the window. Not many were done this way for some reason. Most of the lips were on the other side. i have a few other odd sets that i will get some photos of.

I don't have anything rare, unless you count the stock wheels on my ride. I hear they're getting hard to find. As for what I want, read below.

Found this last weekend, the rim is steel, will probably hang a water hose on it.

I think these are first run American Racing Equipment Torq Thrust wheels. They are on my project 67 nova. They have "American Racing Equipment 6X14 MOLD 1" on the inner lip. Does anyone know if I can run these wheels with disc brakes if I go that route? I suspect no without a spacer and that is why they came out later with the Torq Thrust D for disc brakes.

Update: I guess these wheels are new style 1988 or later "D" wheels that are not very rare.

Rockey...they were a rim/tire combination you could buy at a Firestone tire store. The tires were called "LXX" so do a google search "Firestone LXX" and you will see a webpage devoted to them. They were not meant to have the tires dismounted by a tire shop, you were supposed to send them back or exchange them for new ones at Firestone. Modern tires dont work on these rims as far as I know since the bead area on the wheel is totally wrong. I always thought they were early to mid 60's but actually I think they are late 60's early 70's. That webpage lists them as early 70's for the Stutz custom cars...They definitely look earlier though...very cool to look at but very hard to use on a car...

I recently picked up a set of Ansen Apollo wheels with flat Radir like spokes....and these Hollywood Stingrays....I used to have a set of Appliance Apache wheels which are very similar to the Stingrays...but sold them years ago...when I found the Stingrays I just had to have them even though I dont have a car to fit them right now...

I think these are my favorite "rare" wheels. They were on so many cool cars back in the day but you never see them now. They couldn't have made many sets...

Here's couple of mine. The one with the vintage Firestone is a 15"x 9" magnesium Minilite made in England. It's stamped TPI which means it was with Tony DeLorenzo's Troy Promotions Inc race team at some point. Being it's a 5 on 4.75 pattern this wheel/tire combo was probably on his Camaro or Vette.

The other 15"x 7" Magnesium wheel looks like a Halibrand but there are no markings anywhere. I bought a pair of these off a 66 Chevelle back in 1974. The seller called them Nelson's. They look to have originaly been a pin drive knock-off due to the machined taper in the center hole. Lug holes look to have been added later.

I didn't think these were rare but I was once told "I've been in the wheel business for 30 years! They did NOT make a 15x8 chrome slot!". I just nodded and smiled, then walked away. If I can find a pair of 15x6's for the front I might run them on my 54 Chevy.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic, I didn't feel like getting the rims down off the shelf. :)
