Im the proud new owner of a blown nailhead. I havent seen it yet and I am jonesing to get a look at 1. Anyone got a pic for me?
I know this is not what you want BUT there is a guy that has been running a blown 401 Buick reverse flow in his V-Drive Stevens for years..................
P.P.S. - Just now got wind of the fact that your car got magazine coverage. I remember the minute you showed pictures of it finished here, many just knew that was gonna happen. So a BIG congratulations on that too.
You probably don't really need it, over kill for your car, makes to much noise, loss of mpg, and all that ****, just trying to save you...just let me know where you live and i will gladly pick it up and save you. You are one LUCKY man! congrats!
Congratulations Jim,,great article (April Street Rodder) on your rod. Whats wrong with the 409,,just want a change? Tommy
The manifold, front cover, and windage tray were all built by a good friend of mine, Dana Czech. He builds all sorts of real racecar stuff. Its one off and hand made. he made it from plate and it is all welded, kinda like a sheetmetal intake, only aluminum. The entire motor is built for function, not fashion. The desktop dyno claims it should have somewhere around 600 h.p. Its not going in the 34 chevy, so the 409 is not losing its home.
Heres a pic of the nailheads future home. Im thinkin the sbc would go better in a 33 willys truck, and the 32 really needs a nailhead to send it to the next level.
Yours should be pretty wiiild as well. im a fan of early 60s ford g***ers. i have a 429 powered 63 fairlane g***er, but its real tame compared to what you got cookin there.
