I am trying to locate a set of inside door window garnish frames for
    my '40 Ford Deluxe coupe.
Does anybody know what other year frames might also fit other than
    the 1940 frames ?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Coupe and Four Door Sedan are the same. '39s would fit the opening, but then you wouldn't get the vent windows. Deluxe & Standard garnish mouldings are different if you care about that. The Deluxe ones have a flat trim piece at the bottom, where the Standards don't have that.

37-40 frames will fit , I used 37's in my 40 coupe cause I did not want vent wings ( 37's didn't have them).

I have a set of '40 windows, channels and vent windows that I want to use.
It sounds like you guys are saying that I will have to find a set of '40 Deluxe coupe
    frames only huh?
    Did I understand you correctly?

  5. Yes,That is correct........I may know where there is a pair...If so ,I'll PM you

any frames from a '40 fordor front or coupe .40 Standards had vent wings , The frames just looked different . The '40 frames are the only ones that'll fit that do have vent wings.

The vent window is part of the frame ... if you use 39's, they will fit the door but no vent window which means you need glass for a 39 ... as previously stated 4 door sedan fronts are the same as coupes.

The set of windows and channels that I bought off egay has a set of vent windows
that came with them separately but no full door garnish frames. They said they were 40's
Do you guys think that means that I may have '39 glass and vents?
It sounds like you may be saying that '40 vent windows are inseparable from the
    window garnish frames.
    Am I reading you right?

No, 39's had no vents ,only 40's . The vent windows are not inseperable .

When looking at a 40 garnish , there is an obvious indentation for the vent wing, but all the parts are removable.I'd take pictures for you , but all my original 40 garnishes are in storage elsewhere.

So just because the vent windows I have are detached with no garnish frames,
they are still probably '40 vent windows and I just need a set of '40 garnish frames,
    right?

I have a member offering me a pair of frames from a '40 Tudor.
Will those fit my '40 Deluxe coupe too, or does only 4 door sedan
or 2 door coupe frames fit?
In other words, are the 2 door sedan doors different than the coupes?
Thanks again to the 40 Ford experts!

You might be able to shorten the Tudor moulding to fit. The front section is the same on all the 40 mouldings since the vent window is the same on all of them.

Another point to consider is the '39 frames are held in place with clips. The '40 frames are held with screws.

This is the only picture I can get to quickly. It's a '40 Standard moulding. The other pictures posted has one with more metal at the bottom, which is a Deluxe.

Thanks for the pic 40LUV . That's a beautiful 40 you have there.
I have a good friend about your age down here between Dallas and Ft. Worse
that restores 40 coupes to original stock condition. He has 2 beauties right now.
I'm doing a hot rod version with mine to repeat one that I built in high school in 1961.
I'm still looking for a set of frames.
One FNG joker offered a rusty set for $400 plus shipping.
I would rather cut down a set of 2 doors than be robbed like that!

Guess this fng better chime in and defend himself. First off these are not rusted out. second I could have primered them and told you you they were nos like some of the stuff I've gotten, but I know that ain't right without my mama tellin me so. Yep the price is 400 bucks and if I don't get it I'll rechrome them and put them in my coupe. FNG P.S. I would have thrown in the vasaline and maybe even a kiss or two.

I am working on a 40 coupe and like the look of no vent windows. If I am reading this stuff correctly I can use 37 or 39 garnish moldings to do away with the vent?
