Ok so i was at the sac autorama yesterday and saw a pair of rims on about 5 different cars that i really really liked, but now i cant remember what they are called. I thought that if i just looked around they would be everywhere. well i cant find them anywhere. They look like torque thrust M's, are chrome, but the center piece has red writing on them and it starts wiith an S i think. I know this probably sounds like a dumb thread to start but i really liked them and cannot find them anywhere.
    Thanks for the help!

From now on, they're just "torque thrust", NOT Americans! :)

At Charlotte swap meet last year we were set up next to the Coy rep, Danny...great guy. I kept looking at a few different sets he had for some other projects - the prices were great, and the quality seemed unbelievable. I'd love to pass Danny's info if anyone is interested - just PM me.

No 15's or 16's? Kind of makes them useless to me.

I followed this link. They list no sizes that would look good on an old car.

I wanted a set of their wheels for my 57 belair wagon, settled on type m's, 17 inch the lip is different from the 18's to the 17's in regard to the type m's. Get what you paid for I guess, the car looked good but coys are nice in the way of getting the proper backspacing, my type m's almost looked as if they were made for a FWD car.

I agree with Zman. I'm certainly not the traditional police but the larger rims just don't look right to me. This is a site for traditional hot rods and customs, right?

Yep, That's me. The grumpy old man. ;-D

You shared your opinion. I shared mine. Just because we don't agree doesn't make me grumpy. I'm sure there would be something about my coupe you wouldn't like. Guess what though, I wouldn't care. I built it for me like you built yours for you. That's how it's supposed to work!

FWIW here's mine to pick apart. Normally I run real magnesium TT's on the back but my slicks are on slots.

To be honest, i think its pretty cool!
smaller wheels with bigger profile tires do look better on older coupes.

I can't stand Coys. They look like a horrible Torq Thrust ripoff from Taiwan. Something you'd buy from the foreign guy running the wheel shop out of the old drive-through car wash behind the 7-11 selling twenty-fo's to all the homeboys and soccer moms. I can't believe how many people are running them.

Only if you think EJ Potter was a traditional hotrodder..!

It's all a matter of personal choice. Having been a rodder for a lifetime (I'm 57) that was the way I understood the hobby/sport to be about.
