  13. This car belonged to fallen club member Jerry Reen, he was rear ended by a young kid driving way to fast. The club got together a few years ago and repaired the car, the original flame stencils were still on someones shelf 30 years later and used again to duplicate the paint job. It's pretty cool to see it.............

About 4:00 A.M.,..... This is exactly why MHRA has our own members patrol, No one looks after these cars, like car guys,.... It's been the same sence 1953.

isnt that a white snake song?

  18. I am with you in spirit, my friend. If those walls could talk. The spirit of the little Mack roadster will always be there. Also the Yatch 40 Merc that sat across the aisle from your 36 coupe in the first Autorama. Damn, you're old!

Actually, I find myself thinking about this song every year,... but it was by "the Five Satins"
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBT3oDMCWpI

In the words of the caractor John Millner,...

"Yeah,.... Been a long time, ain't it ?",...... As the years go by (like other things in my life) I am excited and a little sad around Autorama time, My old buddy Clyde and I talk about the cars, the friends,... and the ones we miss,.... I guess that's why I like working the overnights so much,.... I get to spend a little time again with all of them.

It's not about the cars,.... its about the people.

8 years ago,... with a very dear old friend,......

Dennis, Looks like you get the best seat in the house, and the best choice of camera angles:rolleyes:. I'm envious, I'll bet the ghosts of all the shows that have taken place there roam around freely after the big lights go out. Also envious of all of the Detroit hot rod history that you've been privilaged to witness first hand.
I'll have to get up north and visit with you and "my '34 3w" sometime soon.

Great job MHRA. for allowing every car owner participating to 'sleep well' at night knowing you guys are treating the vehicles like your own...keeping watch over them properly,..and great photos,..without the massive crowds around...thanks again!

nice pictures, sure is different then having the mass of people there! I took a few pictures of mostly people and stuff figuring someone else would take better pictures of the cars.
