30 years ago there was a model "T" roadster outlined with neon up on a pole on the north end of Milwaukee. Place was called Schwister Ford. Wonder if it is still there ?
Found this one on the Internet. At first I thought it was kind of funny but the more I thought about it, not so funny.
in charlotte and it is on tryon street and really is a piece of junk some usuable parts but mostly bondo.
This one is located at the intersection of I-44 and 43 highway in joplin missouri, it was built by local artist Lowell Davis
Lanes Garage. He's been in the same location forever and last I knew they also had a small antique car salvage yard out back. Even had a couple old modified coupe racecars, a couple of 59 El Caminos slowly sinking into the ground, etc. Very nice people and very into old cars but they know what their stuff is worth. Has a lifesize Dinosaur on the front porch of his house as well..
Anybody remember a '59 Olds 98 by Needles with a sign welded to the roof? This is my old buddy Jim's story. His dad was a Marine DI at Parris Island, SC. Bought a green 59 Olds 98 4dr hdtp brand new for a family car. When Jim turned 16 in the late 60's, he got his drivers license and the '59. The Olds was a party pit on wheels; lotsa firsts, lotsa great memories. After graduation, Jim joined the Air Force and sold the '59 to a Marine at Parris Island. 15 years later Jim is assigned to Norton AFB and makes the trip west. He's coming through Needles and what does he see along side the road, but a green '59 Olds 98 4dr hdtp in front of a business with the sign welded to the top. He whips around, pulls in, walks around the back of the Olds and spots the bondo he put around the back glass 15 years before. It was his old car. He walks into the business and asks the owner about his sign. Owner says a Marine was coming through and blew the motor in the olds. He traded the Marine a bus fare to San Diego for the Olds, and welded his sign to the roof to keep it from blowing away.
Here is the car from the old Bonnie and Clydes restaurant that my club Unique Tin of longview, WA saved today from being sold off to who knows where. It will be on display at this years event. Would be nice to see it back on the sign posts some day but who knows.
VERY COOL,my band played in that club many times back in the 80s (SEQUEL) outa Portland.....still miss "ton on a bun"...the redneck that owned the club was a a##hole but always a fun crowd.....glad the car got saved
I just drove by that shop in Chattanooga with the camaro on the roof on Thursday evening. Seeing it gets one's attention. I didn't know about the owner's son. That is truely a shame.
I posted about this one earlier but never got to post a pic my inlaws own Accordian Connection on 106 in Gilmanton. Is that the house just before this place with the dinosaur and airplane in the yard? That would be Champy our version of Nessy it was a parade float at one time.I've been wanting to check this shop out now I know I have to on one of my visits up there.
That's the place. On the left if you're heading north just before NH Motor Speedway. The same family that owns the house owns the garage & junkyard.
